BEAUTIFUL BUZZZ

DUA LIPA - HOTTER THAN HELL (HEROLESS REMIX)

RemixMike DooseComment

So there's this new 17 year-old producer named Heroless which is kind of a weird DJ/producer name, but I also thought Wheathin was kind of a weird DJ name and look where young Ethan is now (the name change to 'Whethan' didn't seem to faze anyone). Anywho...these kids' parents must be putting something in their cocoa puffs because Heroless has proven already with just three remixes that he's going to be a force to reckon with.

I've been smitten with Dua Lipa since I saw her perform at the popular intimate weekly Monday night LA showcase School Night—she is a model after all, but more importantly she can f*cking sing! And her songs are great. Her 2016 single "Hotter Than Hell" is definitely a favorite, and Heroless has ramped it up into a bouncy bass banger. He's got a swing to his style that does something to your brain where you can't help but nod your head and think to yourself "this is going to be big." Grab yourself a free download here.

CONRO - CLOSE

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Monstercat's Conro just dropped his affable, future bass track "Close." This Canadian-born producer is revered for his flexible and versatile approaches towards electronic music. He found his calling in music via passion for the violin, later taking on roles in the indie-rock scene. Once his unorthodox journey into the world of dance music led him to his alias as Conro, his ability to cater towards any sub-genre of EDM, defines his versatility as a producer. "Close" takes facets of what is already popular in modern music, and adds a very distinct layer to it- a Conro layer. The single has a warped accent, pulsing with his signature sound. It's a simple track, but riveting nonetheless. "Close" is a track that is summery, and boisterous. Add "Closer" to your summertime Spotify playlist to feel its colorful energy.

[PREMIERE] KENDL - HOLDING ON FT. TIGER DARROW

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Electronic music is morphing into a vast melting pot of cosmic sounds and indefinable resonance. Once criticized for lacking artistic substance, and contributing towards youth rebellion (as all great music should), today, EDM is a broad term for a genre that is actually a spectrum of various energies, tones, emotions, and musical approaches. Melbourne-based producer, Kendl, is a testament to the righteous, nameless nature of electronic music. His latest drop, "Holding On" ft. alt-folk super babe, Tiger Darrow, is a wavy, indie-fusion with seductive implications. The echoing lyricism coincides like a yin and yang with the production- giving rise to each other as they aesthetically interrelate. The ongoing guitar riffs throughout the track are unmistakable, proving to be its most defining facet. "Holding On" pays tribute to music that reaches far beyond the influence of electronic production. Kendl walks a fine line between risky and fantastic, and this collaborative track proves that he is now delving, head first, into the fantastic. "Holding On" is the 2nd single from his highly anticipated, forthcoming EP, "Colours." Get with this sultry, indie-psychedelic track via Soundcloud, and Spotify. Kendl, we love it.

Disclosure: Kendl is promoted by Beautiful Buzzz writer Lindsey Oh + Alli Lindsey

REZZ x 13 - DRUGS

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Pretty sure Rezz is crushing harder than anyone right now! She's been dropping a new track every week from her forthcoming full length album Mass Manipulation out on AUG 04 via mau5trap. With her undeniable signature sound, Rezz has been giving all the boys a run for their money. This most recent track "Drugs" with fellow Canadian producer 13 mixes her dark electro and somewhat sinister techno sound with some wobbly dub flavor for what I would call .... FIRE! You guys can grab a pre-order of that new album HERE

NVDES - DO YOU THINK ABOUT ME

Music, Original MixEricComment

I'm all about the new music NVDES has been releasing in the last few months. He was featured on a Pierce Fulton track a while back "Better Places" that eventually became the name of his new album, and is most notably known for his single "The Other Side". Most  of NVDES' music features indie rock guitar and bass reminiscent of The Strokes or Gorillaz, but of course with his own flare and a hint of electronics just to blend it all together. This tune is a groover of a record and is a perfect beach ready tune for your summer adventures. Listen over on Spotify here

BANDMASTER X EZERI - JUST PADDLE

Music, Original MixEricComment

Here's a cool record I came across in my perusings of the interwebs. The dreamy intro and casual piano lead to funky vocals and a lazy beat that really struck my fancy when I heard it. I'm not usually into more experimental music, but I thought this one had the right combination of funkiness and groove that starts to take a hold of you by the end. The end also just opens up and heads into a completely different direction from the opening leaving you rather breathless. I don't know much about Bandmaster or Ezeri other than that they are from Latvia and also just came out with an EP last Friday entitled "Stay Awake" that is also pretty tight so check it out!

MINDSIGHT & DUUMU - WHAT FEELS RIGHT

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Monstercat is a collective of musicians and artistic pioneers that continuously blazes trails for the future of electronic music. The world renowned ensemble has proved, more than occasionally, that their "aesthetic" is undefinable. Monstercat caters to the many sub-genres under the umbrella of EDM, resulting in millions of followers and fans. Not to my surprise, Monstercat just released Mindsight and Duumu's collaborative track, "What Feels Right." The single reaches beyond what is currently popular in contemporary indie electronic music. It's wavy, syncopated, and has an almost vintage electronic energy. Despite its many layers, and intentional proliferation, the cadence is clear, ensuring that no other artist can produce something of its nature. The sultry, chrome, female vocals are chopped but, to my appreciation, not screwed. Mindsight and Duumu have just mapped out a journey through a piece that is not "all over the place," but takes you places you haven't been before. It's a geometric, 4-D track that goes against the grain of what is happening in modern music. Straight up, I love it- almost experimental, but warmly approachable. See what I mean via Soundcloud, and Spotify
