Back with his third single to date, Luke MacDonald AKA chasing luma returns with another introspective indie-pop anthem. Following his breakout singles “bittersweet” and “motions” the young artist is settling into his style with his aptly-titled single “paradise.” Continuing his search to find himself, chasing luma’s latest is a summer hit teeming with pangs of heartache. XIE - $AVAGE (FEAT. JSTJR)

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

XIE returns to the release radar with her fourth original production of 2021, “$AVAGE.” This time around, she’s joined alongside venerated electronic dance music powerhouse JSTJR, marking her first collaborative offering of the year. The new tune directly follows up XIE’s “LIGHTS ON ME,” released last month in mid-November, as well as JSTJR’s “LOUDER” with Henry Fong and Ultimate Rejects from mid-August of this year. The track immediately kicks off with glitchy, atmospherically entrancing soundscapes, and is quickly followed by XIE’s rich, textured vocal. The melodious serenading lulls the listener into a heady daze for several moments before the ground-shattering barrage of bass is introduced into the sonic space. Electro and jungle influences are fused together to create a lively combination of sheer energy unlike anything ever heard before it. The anthemic single’s intensity is also palpably raw from start-to-finish, and doesn’t ever let up until the last second. Audibly packing quite the punch, XIE and JSTJR’s newest propulsive endeavor serves as a testament to their impressive production prowess and is sure to get one on their feet in absolutely no time.

ELASKIA - BETTER

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Elaskia’s new single “Better” is a harmonious pop track worth the replay. A mellow listen stitched together by the thread of her crystalline voice, this sweet-sounding listen is as reflective as it is easy on the ear. Under a danceable beat, Elaskia’s empowering lyrics are guided by an unwavering dedication to discovering and preserving her own self-worth. A timeless, wistful listen that shimmies through a dreamy electro-pop cadence, “Better” is only one of many timeless gems embedded into Elaskia’s growing catalog. “I wrote this about realising your own worth even when someone else doesn't. I think some people confuse self-worth with being selfish and this is the exact opposite of that. It's about knowing what you deserve and not being afraid to stand up for that.” -Elaskia

It’s the first day in December as well as Giving Tuesday … so I’m going to give a few tracks from last month a second listen and share them … with all y’all. It’s all about the pop today. Electro-pop, dance-pop, all the pop … what would life be without pop music? My first selection comes from our long time darling and Austrian producer filous. We’ve been raving about him for years, and this new track “Trying Not to Think About You” has that great pop hook that catches your ear and draws you in … I’ll be singing this melody for hours! Nina Chuba’s vocals are sweet and savory with all the vibes … what a great collaboration between these two artists. Listen and love!

The man is back with another melodic masterpiece. The Mansoor that is. Axel Mansoor, the talented singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist known for his flawless falsetto, catchy lyrical cadence, and glistening guitar licks just dropped his second single of 2019. The track, entitled simply “Busy”, is a chill pop record with sweet synths, sparkly guitar lines, and a message about being so caught up in the constant millennial-grind for success that the important people and things in life fall by the wayside. It’s not quite summer yet, but this tune is getting me primed for chill hangs in the backyard or at the beach. Definitely going on the daytime jams playlist! Go peep!

ALESSIA CARA - OUT OF LOVE (DEVAULT REMIX)

Music, RemixSara NatkinsComment

First off, I’d like to sincerely apologize for not getting to this one sooner. LA-based DEVAULT absolutely crushes his freshly released remix of Alessia Cara’s emotive pop ballad, “Out Of Love”. The rising artist sets the theme using his signature retro brand. He infuses the original with nostalgic 80’s synths and energizing riffs that produce an incredible chemistry with Alessia’s passionate lyrics.

To better describe the track’s vibe as vividly as possible, envision yourself cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway on a cloudless day. You’re riding in a convertible, top down with the wind whipping around you, and you have absolutely zero worries in the world. Well that’s exactly what you’re going to be picturing the second the chorus kicks in - guaranteed. Highly recommend you listen to this on high quality headphones in order to truly absorb the full affect and I promise, it will leave you speechless.
