AViVA - BLACKOUT

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

Fridays are both our favorite and, well, not so favorite day of the week. Why? Because there’s just so many damn good releases that it’s nearly impossible for us to decide which ones to showcase here on Beautiful Buzzz.

The first of the batch that made the (extremely difficult) cut is the new one from rapidly rising singer/songwriter AViVA- a fresh, high-energy single titled “BLACKOUT”. Enlisting an all-star team for the - contrary to its name - colorful pop single, AViVA was aided by a few production power players like Jayson Dezuzio (Imagine Dragons and Lana Del Rey), Charlie Snyder (Bebe Rexha) and Jean Paul Fung who has also worked on past releases for AViVA such as “GRRRLS” and “BRN”. Finally, the song was sonically balanced and perfected by mastering wiz, Chris Gehringer (Twenty One Pilots, Fall Out Boy, Halsey and more).

“BLACKOUT’s” lively nature gives you just the right amount of boost you need to transition from the draining weekdays to kickstart an amped weekend. Also, not to mention how catchy the lyrics are; this is one you will definitely find yourself singing in the shower as you get ready for the Friday night festivities.

BENJI LEWIS - RIDE

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Intoxicating like a cabernet by a warm winter fire, Benji Lewis’ latest release is a river of emotions and intellect. “Ride” is a blanket of feelings, a swim through a vast stream of intoxicating sounds, an effervescent plane of both pleasure and pain. His moving take on alternative resonance is sincere, possessive, moving. Almost impossible to articulate, Benji Lewis blends his medicinal vocal powers with Lincoln Jesser’s feathery production. An indescribable truth radiates from “Ride,” slowing the world around you, awakening your truest self. Lose yourself in this hazy labyrinth defined only by Benji Lewis.

YIANNA - ORDINARY LOVE

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

Vibrant and feminine, Yianna’s latest offering “Ordinary Love” is a striking framework of stirring sounds. This soulful indie joint is sensual and enticing, breathing life into elegant cadences defined only by the songstress herself. “Ordinary Love” boasts a natural ebb and flow that is both gorgeous and gritty, solidifying the musically-gifted queen’s place as an artist to watch. This bedroom talk anthem is saturated with romance and fearlessness, constructed with fiery passion. Tune into this intoxicating single of femme resonance as you lose yourself in the beauty that is “Ordinary Love.”

We’re absolutely delighted to introduce singer and songwriter ChrisLee. His new sugary single, “Make A Move,” provokes all the feels as he combines pop and R&B elements for a result that overflows with summertime vibes. With melodies just as sweet as his voice, and a rhythm that’s utterly irresistible, it makes us wonder why we haven’t covered this guy before.

AXEL MANSOOR - BROTHERS

Music, Original MixEricComment

Axel Mansoor is just keeping the momentum going. Fresh off an Emmy (yes you read right) Emmy nom nom nom, and an epic selfie-led music video for 'Talk To Me' that was featured by Buzzfeed, Axel is in no way looking backward. He's grinding and working hard to make beautiful tunes to bring to our earholes, and he's most certainly done it again with 'Brothers'. This folky acoustic and vocal-led single comes as the last song on the newly released Somerset EP named for the street he wrote it on. The song has a heart wrenching story to accompany the heavenly tune. Axel speaking about the song:

"'Brothers' was never supposed to be on this EP. It was an older song I had hung up a while ago, loved but never brought down. In January, I received an email from a grieving mother who had recently lost a son — she explained to me that her other son had found the song and that it had helped their family through the pain. I’ve never cried so hard from an email. I’d never met her son and yet it felt like I had lost him too. I knew I had to make a new version, and I asked her if I could dedicate it to him. Well…"Brothers" is out now, in loving memory of Brody Stewart (December 30, 1991 - January 14, 2018)."

BENJI LEWIS - US AGAIN

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Romantic and alluring as ever, Benji Lewis returns after a massive flux in his career with “Us Again,” the enchanting sophomore single from forthcoming EP “Together Apart.” Uprooting from his native Australian land, Benji traveled to the states to perform at SXSW in Austin, Texas later making his final ascent to Los Angeles- a place he now calls home. Produced by close collaborator Golden Vessel, “Us Again” is a spacious, atmospheric composition with a sugary aura. Benji’s robust, honeyed vocals shine at the apex of the track, while the shimmering, perfumed production creates a labyrinth of echoing opportunities. We’re listening, Benji.

AXEL MANSOOR - TALK TO ME

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Millennial behavior is criticized in the media on what seems to be a day-to-day basis, most of which Gen Y is unabashedly proud of—challenging mainstream capitalism, redefining how America digests art, and ultimately reshaping the American experience. While this radical group of young adults are pioneering a new way of collective thought, much of it is done with the use of technology, a medium where ideas are often misconstrued. In regards to millennial romance, this digital miscommunication can prove disheartening, and worse-off, entirely fabricated. Combining conceptual, generational philosophies with a multi-dimensional myriad of instruments, singer/songwriter Axel Mansoor captured a new age in a mere 4 minutes and 35 seconds with this single "Talk To Me." The track is a gentle, charming and welcoming piece that challenges what it means to make people move. Using predominantly traditional instruments, Axel fills the spaces between each shift in chord progression with his soft, palpable psalms. His vocals pour out of the depths of his soul, kissing his lips, almost audibly, as it makes its way into our ears. It's slow, yet moving, soft, yet demanding. Moreover, the music video release of "Talk To Me" perfectly encapsulates the mantra of the song. Undoubtedly an unorthodox video, this moving picture is made of entirely of real-time Snapchats between two romantic suitors, one of which, seems to be falling for the other. With Axel playing the main character, viewers and listeners alike are welcomed into a delicate space of his creative mind—you laugh, you cry, and you feel with this video. The release of "Talk To Me" and its visual counterpart are incredibly thought out, touching, and is set to blaze trails for the way millennials look at, and utilize their every-day technology.

CLANS - PRAYERS

Music, Original MixEricComment

The cloudy/winter weather is starting to get to my mood. I find myself gravitating to folkier acoustic sounds around this time of year, and Clans' new tune is exactly the ticket. This track is a little different than what we normally post, but Clans has done a great job with this one and deserves some support. We posted his tune "Alibi" a while back and that sweet tune has gone on to garner 150k plays and was definitely a breakout. Fast forward to "Prayers" he's continuing down a folkier road with beautiful guitars, ukulele and harmonica. This tune has been garnering big support on Spotify, and is one you should definitely throw on snuggled under a big blanket warming by the fire this holiday season.
