DONKEYBOY - KALEIDOSCOPE

Music, Original MixMike DooseComment

With a name like Donkeyboy you’d expect something different than this song. As someone who only just heard about this band who is apparently massively popular in their home country of Norway, I would have expected something humorous like Flight of the Conchords or Reggie Watts, but instead I got this happy-as-hell electro-pop anthem dripping with 80s-inspired sounds. You know what though? I’m not at all mad—I’ve actually been playing it on repeat.

ARTY - SUPPOSED TO BE

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Russian producer, ARTY is no stranger to success. The Anjunabeats artist has collaborated with Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, and Matt Zo. Mostly known for a knack for trance and progressive house, ARTY just unveiled a much lighter side of his musical aesthetic. His latest track, "Supposed To Be" is a tropical, feel-good pop with colorful drops, and approachable rhythm. This isn't the ARTY we're used to, but with "Supposed To Be" we see him expand his artistic depth and fluidity- moving, swiftly, with the inevitable changes occurring in modern music and art today.

THUTMOSE - STILL I RISE

Music, Original MixMike DooseComment

Hip hop and electronic music go together like cookies and cream. Having both grown out of the disco music and early DJs and beat makers of the 70s and 80s, it's no surprise. On Brooklyn rapper Thutmose's new track "Still I Rise" he sings catchy driving hooks and spits rhythmic verses over a chugging house beat that nicely blends a classic four-on-the-floor beat with contemporary ethereal production elements (word has it that it was produced by Emmit Fenn). Lyrically it's a pump-up anthem about being "in it to win it" and pushing on with your dreams despite others trying to keep you down—which is part of the reason it was chosen it was chosen to be used as a sports anthem on national television by the MLB Network this season. Looking forward to watching the rise of this young and talented new artist.

SAN HOLO -I STILL SEE YOUR FACE

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

We never miss a chance to post a new track from our love San Holo, and his latest "I Still See Your Face" is giving me all the feels!  As the work day winds down and I'm daydreaming while gazing out the office window looking down over this beautiful bay area city ... I'm thinking about the amazing year we've had with our new friend San Holo and feeling the urge to have a mini dance party with the whole office. I may book a club for a living, but trust me ... it's a just just like any other job .... except we get to talk about music all day long. With light bouncy rhythms, gentle synthy vocals, and vivid future beats ... this Dutch producer once again produces all the good good! So good! You can swoop this one HERE

KILL THEM WITH COLOUR - DIAMONDS FEAT. DAVID SPEKTER

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Toronto-based producer, Kill Them With Colour (not colOr), just unveiled his collaborative single, "Diamonds." The track, which features singer, songwriter David Spekter is a well-put-together electro-pop soundscape with intentional layers, and signature drops. The track is wavy, and riveting- bursting with vibrancy and character. The production oscillates around the vocals, stopping, and returning in perfect time to emphasize certain lines and vocal chords. Kill Them With Color is bold in this release, capitalizing on already popular rhythms while adding his own, distinct film to it. Bright, and brilliant- it's definitely a track that will spread far, and wide.

ANDRES SIERRA - WHY DO I (STILL LOVE YOU)

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Monday's suck, and Andres Sierra's "Why Do I (Still Love You)" is the deep house vibe you need to take that grimy, hungover, post-weekend edge off. Accumulating over 50,000 plays it's first week on Soundcloud, "Why Do I (Still Love You)" is proving to be a brilliant success. The single has a retro touch to it, combining early house elements paired with a strikingly 80s style cover photo. "Why Do I (Still Love You)"  is a rare sound in a time where indie-electronic is the only thing charting again, and again, and again, becoming nearly trivial. This mysterious, dark, shuffle-inducing house track is refreshing, and it's deep-synth anchor gives rise to an underutilized approach towards electronic music. "Why Do I (Still Love You)" is only one track off of his latest album, "House Arrest." Thanks Andres Sierra, for making deep house great again.

AUTOGRAF - SLEEPLESS IN NYC

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

I was in NYC last August, and there was this massive heat wave where I pretty much almost died of heat and humidity ... I even opted out of going to the music festival I was supposed to be attending in fear of this heat death. That being said .... NYC is one of my favorite cities ever and I have spent many sleepless nights there! Our boys Autograf have captured that beautiful late night NYC summer vibe with their new track "Sleepless in NYC" out today via Armada. With crisp melodies under dreamy electro tones and whimsical vocals, this track sets the bar high for your Monday listening pleasure!  You can swoop it up HERE

BRASSTRACKS - THOSE WHO KNOW

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Holy mac! Brasstracks tho .... I mean it just keeps getting better and better! Ivan and Conor have been crushing all the things with their Brasstracks project, and personally they kinda make me swoon with their sweet jams! Jazz infused future bass feels is the signature sound by combining brassy melodies with R&B vibes with that luscious bass ... so amazing! This new track "Those Who Know" debuts Ivan's vocal skills as well - proving that these guys really can do it all. Well done!
