Alright, I know it's sold out, but many times you can go down to The Echo and wait in line - they usually release some tickets - and from what I hear it's well worth it! I don't think I have ever talked about a band from Missouri.... I myself was born and raised in that state, and then was back again in the early 2000's working at a major label - trying to find somewhat of a local music scene where one did not exist... so I had to get back to Cali. I really hate Missouri - but this new gem of a find - Leverage Models - could be from the depths of hell (almost Missouri) and I would still be stoked about them!

Happy Monday! Today I feel like starting off with with some awesome Australian indie rock! British India released their new single called "I Can Make You Love Me" just a few days ago, and I have to say I really like what I am hearing from this Melbourne based band.
They are currently working on their 4th upcoming album that should be released in the next few months. These guys are no strangers to success - their first album Guillotine (2007) was a national hit in Australia, and they have been making music and touring ever since. Here is a fun fact - British India chose to forgo the use of a label and remain independent and unsigned....maybe every Aussie band strives to be a "Gotye" - and why the hell not!!
I promised myself I was not going to do this today...sit around and listen to new music that is! I mean - I could be cleaning my apartment, or doing laundry....you know....things you do on a Sunday afternoon! But fuck me....I just can't get away from my computer for 2 seconds because I keep coming across amazing bands! This one.....Shut up! Snoskred.....holy crap it's good!
Snoskred has a funny name because they are from Norway - they also have a new video out for single "We Are" which I have just listened to about 12 times in a row! You could cross My Bloody Valentine w/ Oasis w/ Sonic Youth and get something close to what they sound like!

I hate to admit this, but I totally forgot about this dance punk performance art collective band until right now, when I came across their new video for "Feelz Good (4-evr)"! I have, however, been reminded about how great Ssion is, and this makes me very happy! I caught their live show a few years back when they were on tour with Fisherspooner, and all I could talk about for weeks was how amazing Ssion was!! See for yourself - this track is sick!
Summer jams are the best - and this new tune from Goldroom is my kind of summer vibe! This video was filmed in my neighborhood - like so many others, but I like how you can really see the beauty that Silverlake & Echo Park have to offer, and why the hipsters love it! Many a night I find myself at the Gold Room which is shown in this clip - you can get a beer and a shot of tequila for like 5 bucks, and free tacos...as many as you want!

It's always fun to hear a new cover - but only when it's good.... and luckily I found a good one! I have come across Australian band New Navy who have just released their version of "Breathe" by Telepopmusic! This band sounds exactly like Two Door Cinema Club crossed with Chad Valley - two really great artists....making New Navy pretty great themselves! To top it off they are covering a great song! They have replaced the electronic elements with their bouncy bright guitars and dreamy vocals putting their own spin on this dance hit!
