TRAILS - HOLD MY SOUL

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

Delivering his final single of the year, TRAILS releases his indie-pop anthem “Hold My Soul” with the help of Ben Esser and lyrics from Esser. His moving production style is impossible to deny, and his latest track is no different. Sculpted from the sounds of contemporary pop, “Hold My Soul” stays true to TRAILS’ left-of-center songwriting to create a melting pot of zestful sounds. A colorful track with invigorating hooks and a spirited feminine topline, TRAILS is exiting 2019 with no stone unturned. Following a monumental year, fans can only expect more greatness from the German pioneer in 2020.

YOUNG FRANCO - ANGEL FT. ABHI THE NOMAD

Erin MaherComment

Australia is a clear hotbed for music. From my favorite Flume to who today’s article is about, Young Franco, the country/continent is packed with big time players. If he wasn’t already cemented in the Australian scene, Young Franco’s latest offering “Angel” puts him firmly in the limelight. Smooth indie electronic vibes and Abhi The Nomad’s effortless flow make this for a song I’ll have on repeat. Check it out!

BRONZE WHALE - GROWING UP

Alli LindseyComment

Another day brings yet another track, and this one comes from our friends in Austin known as Bronze Whale. These guys have consistently pushed themselves to create refreshing and original tunes that sit somewhere between indie-electronic and r&b, and their latest track “Growing Up” might just be their best one yet. With funky detuned synths and elegant ambiance the duo sets the perfect stage for the vocal to truly take hold. Each verse alludes to chasing your dreams, moving up in life, and also notes that in the process you might lose touch with some people. However, the end comes to a sweet resolution asking those people to cross the boundaries that hold them back, and to join Bronze Whale on their quest to being the best versions of themselves. The song perfectly balances emotions to create an upbeat yet moving piece of art.

The Autograf boys are back and better than ever! Early last week they announced they have been working on their debut album ‘The Ace Of You’ PLUS they shared the first single from it. “Ain’t Deep Enough” is a very catchy house track that’s primed to tear the club up. Just take a listen to see what I mean!

SAAVAN - YOUNG MINDS

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

Carefully crafted with socially-aware intention and atmospheric melodies, Saavan’s latest single, “Young Minds” is a moving masterpiece set to be the final single from their OBSERVATORY EP. Its charming nature draws influence from their hometown of Paris, France but resonates with music lovers from all over the world. The alternative-electronic duo is diving headfirst into the fantastic with their latest release as their signature sound oscillates a musical fabric of warmth and revolution. Written during the 2017 French riots, Saavan says the single is meant to “evoke an observation that is more sociological than political." Swathed in a dreamy charm, “Young Minds” is a majestic outline of sounds. Listen today.

MADEON - NIRVANA

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Last night I was one of the lucky few who were able to celebrate the release of Madeon’s Good Faith album while attending his show at the largest audience he’s ever played to as a headliner in San Francisco … and all I can say is WOW WOW WOW! Me and 8000 other fans experienced one of the greatest shows from this prolific French producer, everything about it was bananas. From the visuals to the song selection, it was incredible tasteful and a complete mind blowing journey of light and music and love. I’m so impressed that I’ve had this record on repeat all day! This jam tho, “Nirvana” has all the feels. Listen to the rest HERE! Thank you Madeon!

CONNOR CAINE - NEED YOU BACK (WITH KOBY & ANDREW WEITZ)

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Connor Caine is an LA-based independent hip-hop and R&B producer quickly establishing himself as an individual enterprise. The third look into his forthcoming debut EP, “Need You Back” enlists the help of vocalist Andrew Weitz and fellow producer Koby of breakout electronic duo LMBO. This buttery track is a smoked-out gem embellished with mellow cadences and R&B aromas. Atmospheric as hell and mellifluous to boot, Connor Caine’s signature flow is an ebb and flow of musical zest. Intentionally layered with dreamy rhythms, “Need You Back” sounds something like sunrise.

“Driven by the early electronic influences in koby’s production, the song sways between silky R&B harmonics, the gritty saturation of its’ percussion and low end, and a smooth topline kicked off by our homie Andrew Weitz. It originally started as a composition piece for koby’s master’s recital, and with influence and direction from our boys, evolved into the song that it is today. “

CHRIS SIEGEL - NEVER NEED TO KNOW (FEAT. ANDREW BRIOL)

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Wrapping up a groundbreaking year, Milwaukee’s own Chris Siegel offers up a hybrid-electronic gem “Never Need To Know.” His most dynamic track to date features the soul saturated vocals of Andrew Briol creating an outline of versatile soundscapes that fuse together effortlessly. Rooted in emotional pop cadences, Chris Siegel rinses out the track with a robust sax line to create an entirely immersive and jazzy listening experience. Swathed in a groovy tenor, this colorful tune simultaneously tackles the difficulties of letting go.

“The song was inspired by the concept of letting go — in this case a relationship. I think in our hyperconnected world, it’s become quite easy for people to have instant access to memories of past relationships/partners/etc.. Whether that’s deep diving on social media or simply seeing an old flame pop up in your feed, it’s the idea of regurgitating the past instead of completely moving on. The song was inspired by a friend who was going through the motions earlier this year. Admittedly, I think it’s something we’ve all done at some point in our lives (i.e. hyper-analyzing our past when in fact it’s much smarter to move on from it). I think it’s inherently human, but also pretty unhealthy”

A comforting listen with elegant sound design, “Never Need To Know” is one we can’t get enough of. Listen today.
