KARMA FIELDS - KF:KONG

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Decided to throw up a deeper cut today that is oh so delicious. Karma Fields has been producing some super exciting dark wave dance music for the past few years along with some pretty dope visuals. This project not only sounds rad, but it’s basically a complete living visual art installation complete with body rush vibes. It’s dope, and his new single KF:KONG is dope … you gotta check this out!

EDWIN ROSEN - VERSCHWENDE DEINE ZEIT

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

In the crosshairs of post-punk, new-wave, and synth-pop there you’ll find Edwin Rosen. With only 5 releases under his belt, Rosen has already accumulated millions of streams across his discography. With towering numbers attached to his name at such an early stage in his career, it comes as no surprise that his craft is something to behold. Channeling the sounds of The Cure, his latest single “Verschwende deine Zeit” is dark and dreamy. Flushed with brooding soundscapes, static synths, and rugged vocals, this vogue track is inspired by the grit and authenticity of skate culture. A marriage between electronic music and lo-fi rock, “Verschwende deine Zeit” is grimy, grungy goodness.

[PREMIERE] UNKNOWN CALLER - SAYONARA

Music, Original Mix, PREMIEREAlli LindseyComment

Colorful and melodramatic, Brooklyn’s own Unknown Caller returns with “Sayonara.” Inspired by the new wave cadences of the 80s, and intellectual conversations made across Taipei, Seoul, Kyoto, and Tokyo, “Sayonara” is a melting pot of unique influences. Stitched together with a demanding melodrama, this tapestry of sounds is both familiar and far out. A careful algorithm of isolated, digital chimes work together to create a single framework of vibrant emotions. At the apex of bedroom pop, Unknown Caller’s vocals are distant, sequestered, yet distinctly encompassing. With a DNA of whispering theatrics, subtle vigor, and undeniable glamour, “Sayonara” is a charming venture of resonance. Paralleled with artwork from Taiwanese visual artist, Air Geometry, the single is an artistically sound conception. Tune in.

SOBER ROB - MOVING ON FT. KARRA

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

As if I would forget to post this one! Last week this legend dropped a heater, and I just wanted to make sure everyone got their hands on all the fire! Boston producer Sober Rob is not fucking around with his latest single "Moving On ft. Karra" - I'm swooning! With synthed out melodies and angelic vocals, we have a cross between an epic future pop love song and 80s new wave underground club hit! Brilliant! You guys can swoop this one via iTunes HERE

JAI WOLF - STARLIGHT FT. MR GABRIEL

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

So .... the 80's new wave vibe coming off this new Jai Wolf track is everything! It must have been an amazing time to be alive in the early 80's, when new wave was breaking and the youth were feeling sad and expressing themselves through synths! "Starlight" is the latest from our young Moving Castle hero, and the one thing I have always admired about Jai Wolf is that he's not afraid to use the sounds and vibes that he loves. There is a ton of beauty and feeling here, allowing us to think about what we are hearing and not just throwing trap arms (even tho I love to throw some trap arms). Jai Wolf had me at day one, and "Starlight" is just another shining example of his brilliance. Swoop this one HERE!

LEON ELSE FT. OLIVER - THE CITY DON'T CARE

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

The dreamy British vocalist Leon Else is back with my favorite disco duo from Los Angeles, Oliver, on a retro but new single “The City Don’t Care.” The song will resonate with any big city boy or girl, especially if you’re an Angeleno. Leon writes the record about the loop-set lifestyle of living in LA, and the pairing of the paradise vibe with the “deceiving side of the city,” as he described it. A friend played this for me the other day, and I was dancing in my seat so hard that my pup, Lou, jumped up to check if mommy was okay. We’ll be seeing this name more often, so stay tuned for more!

AUTUMN IN JUNE - COCAINE EIGHTIES

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

This is not the first time we've talked about this fresh Los Angeles electro pop newbie, and if he keeps dropping jams like this if definitely wont be the last. Autumn In June has a new single "Cocaine Eighties" and we are loving all the things about it! He mixes up 80's new wave electro funk with 90's R&B with synth pop and hip-hop vibes ... I can't get enough! This kid writes and produces all his own tracks in a log cabin in his South Central back yard that he built himself from Youtube instructional videos ... I can't even make this shit up! He's great, and not listening to Autumn in June is not an option.

THE WOMBATS - EMOTICONS (LOVE THY BROTHER REMIX)

Music, RemixErin MaherComment

Now that everyone is back from EDC - today seems to be getting back to the normal pace this industry produces - I've been feeling great about getting back to the grind, especially with this latest remix from the ultimate homies Love Thy Brother. My amazing Canadian loves put their indie dance spin on "Emoticons" by The Wombats - holding onto a dark deep house edge with a slight 80's new wave vibe that I am loving! Love Thy Brother can do no wrong actually! Get into this one kids!
