MEDASIN - IRENE

Music, AlbumSarah WestComment

It's no secret - Alt:Vision artist, Medasin, has emerged atop a slew of hungry new generation producers as one of the best and brightest. His long-awaited debut LP, Irene, is a crisp glimmer of honesty and subtle complexities that make up a truly magnetizing listening experience from front to back. As detailed in his interview with Billboard, Medasin dedicated the album to the the only person who helped him see light in a time shrouded by darkness: Irene. Paralleling that same sentiment, he brought in two vocalists, Kaz Moon and Sophie Meiers, who also resonated with his own personal journey, and are featured on the only two vocal-forward tracks on the LP.

"Work For You" feat. Kaz Moon is an easy going track sprinkled with Medasin's signature trappy beats, and laced with flutters that will make your heart do the same. Kaz brings an effortless rhythmic flow that is all his own and makes this song a sure fire stand-out on the album.

"Tired" feat. Sophie Meiers is the danciest select on this full-length masterpiece. Sophie's smooth yet longing vocal tone makes you feel each glowing key stroke that's threaded through the track, that much more deeply.

Do yourself a favor - take a stroll through the city, headphones in, volume up, and soak up the new-wordly sounds of Irene.

KHALID & NORMANI - LOVE LIES (MEDASIN REMIX)

Sarah WestComment

Medasin, bruh, no one's sick anymore - you gave 'em the medicine with this beat. This brand new remix of "Love Lies" by Khalid & Normani from ALT:Vision producer, Medasin, is nothing short of a cure. He's brilliantly managed to keep the integrity of the original track intact while weaving in an extra layer of depth that is absolutely dripping in unadulterated swagger. Soul infused vocals from Khalid and Normani wrap you in a blanket and hand you a glass of vino, while Medasin's bouncy bassline and bright jazzy mids get your head knockin'. In an industry that constantly rewards flashy production and big personalities, Medasin's refined take on trappy beats stands out with a cool confidence and effortless command that only leaves you wanting more.

If you haven't heard of him yet, Justice Skolnik is about to make massive waves on every summer jams Spotify playlist with his new track, "Seventeen" feat. Nevve. The ALT:Vision-signed electro-pop up-and-comer has truly captured the care-free essence of summer time in a simpler time. Catchy melodies and poppy beats are Skolnik's specialty, and there's no shortage of those sizzling sounds in this upbeat summer anthem. Nevve, who has crushed vocals for artists like Illenium and Elephante (to name a couple), has captured our hearts once again with a bright vocal melody that'll instantly have you singing along. Grab a margarita, kick ya feet up by the pool, and let "Seventeen" cary you away on a pink flamingo floaty.

KILL PARIS - MADE OF TIME

Sarah WestComment

Funk-master and bass-blaster, Kill Paris (OWSLA, Sexy Electric), left his signature gritty beats behind and created a future-bass composition that's smooth as butter. His second release of 2018, "Made of Time (feat. Trove & Emily Vaughn)," proves that his soft side is just as enticing as his booty-bumpin anthems. This is the track you want to be singing as you look into your lovers eyes, windows down, as a warm summer breeze bathes you in a feeling of complete contentment. If this track is a sign of what's to come on his summer 2018 album release, this is sure to be our summer soundtrack.

Sarah WestComment

Anjunadeep mainstay and serious contender for world's best moustache, Luttrell, has left us spiraling into the stars with "Intergalactic Plastic,” the title track off his brand new EP. It's one of those songs that leaves you feeling weightless as it takes your hand and leads you on a journey through your own imagination. We’re not the only one’s melting into Luttrell’s atmospheric soundscapes - Tastemaker of the century, Annie Mac of BBC Radio 1, named it this week’s “Hottest Record,” a highly coveted (and well-deserved) accolade.

The San Francisco native has been steadily rising to the top of the deep house and techno ranks over the last couple years, but major support spots on Above & Beyond’s North American tour, an opening and closing set at ABGT 250, plus support on Lane 8’s Little By Little tour have made Luttrell one of the most sought after artists in the scene.  His intergalactic plastic spaceship is aiming straight for the moon and we are SO along for this ride.
