ELEPHANTE - AGE OF INNOCENCE (JENAUX REMIX)

I'm getting real funky today thanks to my previous post about future funk master GRiZ and now Jenaux. I love how this is tagged on Soundcloud, #BIG ROOM FUNK because that pretty much describes this sound perfectly. I'm bummed I somehow didn't get around to supporting Elephante's amazing original back when it was first released about a month ago (check out the original here), but onto Jenaux's re-work. This track starts off mellow with enveloping pads under the vocals, but it quickly turns up with a funky guitar line that takes us to a snappy drum beat. An 80's tom fill later we're swung into a throw-your-hands-in-the-air and jump kind of chorus with a super catchy vocal chop on top of a progressive style bass line. Jenaux killed this remix and much to our delight it's another Free Download!     

COSMO'S MIDNIGHT - WALK WITH ME FT. KUCKA (KOA REMIX)

I have so much work to do today, I don't even know where to start.  Basically I am a slave to my passion for this music stuff.....  Could be worse I guess, I could be working at Starbucks!  That being said, I'm all about the easy going feel good groove vibes today, so here's something that is just right!  Mysterious Future Classic super group KOA remix "Walk With Me" Featuring KUČKA by Australian twin brother duo Cosmo's Midnight.  All the feels!  Last week these legends released their Moments EP, which is fabulous and can be swooped from iTunes HERE! GRiZ has consistently put out some incredible music release after release, and on top of that I think he might have one of the funnest live shows in the industry. If you haven't had a chance to see GRiZ live then go look up his tour schedule and pick a date trust me! So naturally I was pretty pumped when I saw a new GRiZ track pop up on my Soundcloud stream and ooh it's on point. Horny, bassy, soulful and funk-a-licious "A Fine Way to Die" has blues guitars and bongos and GRiZ's signature horn section all combined with some gritty bass. About 4:30 in we're treated to an orgasmic sax breakdown that takes us high up in the clouds and then we're thrust back down and built up for the home stretch. Human beings are survivalists. I think almost every action we take ties itself back to one of these basic functions of your desire to live and experience happiness in its many forms. A good love approaches you quickly and leaves a strong mark on your life long after it's "gone" or in my experience subsided to a manageable emotional level, a strong chapter of a book you once wrote. I think at the heart of things we're talking about connecting with another person and realizing you genuinely care about their wellbeing and happiness, and want to see them winning beside you. You start seeing double, asking for plus ones for the shows you go to, picking up your other half from work, actually using both sides of your bed (I like to be in the center of the room and not in the corner).

To quote one of my favorite Kanye West songs: "Bittersweet, you know you gon' be the death of me." At some point things might no longer make sense for both of you, and large changes happen really slowly in a deep relationship. You have days where you think you've found a lot of clarity, but you know in a few hours you will slip back into your "feels" and not be able to figure out how you arrived at that moment. This to me is the "Bittersweet" part of love. This song is the conversation you have with a lover once you've put all the cards on the table and they don't add up. Once you've realized you are repeating yourself and trying to repair a relationship that is no longer serving everyone equally, and you've managed to step out of your own survival instincts for long enough to see that. To endure your strongest pains, you must understand them. My mother always says, "Don't fight it, it just wants to be acknowledged. Let it have its moment, and then it will leave you be."

I've been a huge fan of this band Coasts for some time now, and even booked them on a festival I was buying for in 2014 but their visas could not be sorted - super bummer!  And this track, OMG I love it so much!  So when Young Bombs passed me their new remix of "Oceans" I kinda did a little happy dance!  This Vancouver based production duo put their deep house disco spin on this indie pop track, and I am loving it!  Shake your bootay!!! What would the end of the year be like without a new remix from one of our favorite young producers PLS&TY?  We have talked about this kid quite a bit in 2015 because pretty much everything he puts out is spot on.  Yea, we like to fangirl over this legend, and all you have to do is check out his version of "This Game ft. Bertie Blackman" by Odd Mob to see why.  His future sound is so smooth, it's like he makes beats in his sleep. Not sure how I missed this one - your girl can't possibly know about everything all the time, and let's face it -- we have seen quite a few remixes of "Be Together" by Major Lazor!  However, my little Australian baby angels Carmada are just too amazing to let this one pass by.  These blonde babes just fucked up this track in the most insanely best way possible.  They smacked their glitchy bass vibes all over this one for unexpected outcome of total deliciousness! Good morning kids!  Ready for this next fantastic premiere?  Bonnie & Clyde are a production/vocal duo who are about to make some big moves.  Their vocal bass style is laid back but will still get you moving on that dance floor.  There is a graceful ease to their songs, and this new track "Why Do I" is soaked in sultry soulful vocals over low end beats - I am feeling this one!
