LISTENBEE - CHILDREN FT. COSMOS & CREATURE

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Whether you are wearing all black and producing sick beats in LA, or blogging about indie-EDM from your hometown library- we really are just children. Listenbee's latest single, a collaboration with duo Cosmos & Creature, "Children," brings you back to a time when there was no rent to be paid, and no heart too vulnerable. This optimistic track pulses with a "whispering womp"- electrifying your senses while straying from the hectic. It's vocal energy is a divine combination of future R&B and indie reverb. I'm usually not a fan of the lyrical "la la la" filler, but Children uses this tactic appropriately, perfectly embodying the spirit and soul of a child. It's a beautiful, warming, and dynamic track. Listenbee, while under the alias Goonrock, helped produce the hit "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO. While the radio banger was a 2011 phenomenon, we're happy to see Listenbee making his way to the top of the hierarchy in the underground scene. Explore this cute, resonating tune on Spotify. Major shout out to this 3-fold collaboration for bringing me back to softer times.

SAN HOLO - THE FUTURE (FT. JAMES VINCENT MCMORROW)

Music, Original MixEricComment

This last year has been an absolute breakout for not only San Holo's career but also his crew of future music stewards at his label bitbird. We were lucky enough to have him at our SXSW event last March, and it's clearly evident that his popularity is spreading like wildfire. San Holo's style has continued to evolve and morph, and this is easily shown in his latest fittingly titled "The Future" featuring none other than James Vicent Mcmarrow. These two names together should already get you pumped, but then you hit play, and it's pretty much everything you could ask for and more. Characteristically SH vocal chops lead the way for effervescent pads and heavenly guitar expertly dialed in below JVM's characteristically raspy falsetto. "I think too much, when I think about the future" he sings as we're swept away from thinking about pretty much anything. The chill chorus cascades in filling up pretty much all the available sonic space left. This one is definitely another home run add this to your best Spotify playlist here

RKCB - VICE

Music, Original MixEricComment

Dude this new one from RKCB is just bonkers in a good way. It starts with a fat horn synth sound that just blasts away immediately with a funky bass line underneath that sweeps you off your feet from the second you hit play. By the time the vocals come in you're immediately in a tense form of anticipation wondering where the hell else is this track going?? It maintains this precarious equilibrium of funky bliss throughout with smatterings of shiny pads and glitchy patches flashing in and out. We at BB were already fans of RKCB, but new tracks like this remind us why. Add this on Spotify here.
