NEW MUSIC: THE DIG - ALL TIED UP

How about some good old fashioned indie rock??  The Dig have a new single called "All Tied Up" that I am totally in love with.  Their new album Midnight Flowers comes out tomorrow - 5/29/12 and I have a feeling this is going to be great! 

I have seen this band a few times, and I have even had one of my bands play with them in San Francisco a few years back.  They are total sweethearts and one hell of a live band - so good in fact that it was really hard to listen to their last album because it was nothing like the live show that blew my hair back! I am hoping this new record can capture some of that greatness!

Looks like they are coming out to LA for the month of July to do the Monday night residency at the Silverlake Lounge!  This is fantastic news!!  Get out to one of these free Monday night shows LA.....it's so so good!

It's Monday, it's a US holiday, it's time to take advantage of a very rare day off for us Americans.  And even thought I am working, I can still celebrate in my own way!  So if you are having a BBQ or gathering or whatever....it's always a good idea to have a dance party. 

Every once in a while I come across a live set from a band/DJ that rules...and here is one now! D/R/U/G/S played The Camden Crawl earlier this month, and after listening to this set I can come to the conclusion that he killed it!  So get your party shoes on - where ever you are in the world.....

This duo are a boy and girl from London who I like very much!  BIGkids have that same funky feel good vibe like The Asteroids Galaxy tour or even The Phenomenal Hand Clap Band - except take away 5 band members and add DIY beats with lots of saxophones and samples....then you have BIGkids!  However, live shows include a full band which is most excellent!!  Well done!  I totally want to be in a London club right now dancing to this band...mmmmmmmmmm

Spending the weekend in San Francisco was O.U.T.R.A.G.E.O.U.S!  I kind of let lose a bit when I get up in that Northern California air!  Plants And Animals were amazing as usual....and then I got to see some great local music from bay area rockers Seeking Empire and New Diplomat....and we all got a little cray cray!!  Looks like I'm doing it all again next weekend - heading up to Shoreline for the BFD festival!

This week I am really looking forward to Barcelona!  They just released a new album and I was to see all the new songs live! :-)

Album I am currently listening to: Gemini Club: Here We Sit. My friend from Chicago said I needed to listen....yes please!!  So so good!!  Looks like they have a few Cali dates scheduled, nothing in LA yet....might just have to go back up to the bay to get my dance on! ;-)

It is a slow week in LA.....I'm thinking lots of naps to recover / prepair for BFD!

The only reason I talk about this band Mafia Lights so much is because they are fucking amazing!!  This weekend I even got them some radio play in San Francisco from my bestie Christine Kemp on The Youth and Beauty Birgade show!!

So now this group of young lads from that super cool island just east of us would like to give you free music!  Sick!  They have released West/Spiriting Remix EP just today, just for you!  How can you resist?  There are many delicious remixes of both singles for your listening pleasure....it's like candy for your ears!  It's like mouth kissing beautiful people!!  It's like tacos!!
