SPECTOR ANNOUNCE UK TOUR

Erin MaherComment

It is no secret how much I love this band!  Spector have just announced a huge UK tour this fall, and I am freaking out for a number of reasons: 1) I love Spector and I would like to see another live show after they killed it @ The Satellite in LA this past April, and 2) every one of their support bands I have written about and I am currently listening to...yet I have never seen them live!  Really?  Are you fucking kidding me??

The three support bands are Swim Deep, Splashh, and Luls - and for the Manchester & London shows, all 4 bands will be playing!  I think I need to get to London ASAP, because when would a show like this with 4 amazing UK bands that I am super into EVER happen in the states?  Maybe at my SXSW showcase.......

REMIX: THE OTHER TRIBE - SKIRTS (JODY WISTERNOFF REMIX)

Erin MaherComment

Coming out of the city that won’t stop producing visceral, addictive dance music, The Other Tribe were formed in Bristol two years ago. The frenetic live show – combining pounding dance beats, searing synth riffs, towering vocal hooks and the tightest drumming this side of a James Brown jam – enamoured the Bristol music scene and catapulted them round the UK festival circuit. Glade, Beat Herder, Eden, Isle of Wight, Wireless, Brisfest, Gottwood and Dot To Dot have all felt the energy of The Other Tribe.

Check out this new remix of "Skirts" from Jody Wisternoff!!

NEW VIDEO: WHALES IN CUBICLES - NOWHERE FLAG

[Your Name Here]Comment

This is an amazing video for a number of reasons - but mostly because a) Whales In Cubicles are a rad band and this is a great song, and b) the city of London.  I have had a long term affair with London, it is one of the most magnificent cities in the world and at the top of my favorite list.  This video reminds me of how I feel when I have been wondering through the streets late at night...or at sunrise - and just how beautiful it is - and how I long to be there....all the time.

Throw in a song like "Nowhere Flag" and BOOM - I'm hooked!!   Single comes out August 6 via Popular!

NEW VIDEO: BEAT CONNECTION - THE PALACE GARDEN, 4AM

[Your Name Here]Comment

Probably one of my most favorite bands that played my SXSW 2012 Sea Now! showcase, Beat Connection have just released a new video for "The Palace Garden, 4am".   This is an amazing band from Seattle, WA, and have just been out on tour for the past month in the US with White Arrows - and from what I can tell by their twitter conservations, they are having a blast!  I am sure we will see them around again this fall/winter - I highly suggest checking out a live show!

NEW MUSIC: TAME IMPALA - ELEPHANT

[Your Name Here]Comment

This kinda just made my day!  My buddy James over at Three Beams music blog just slapped this up on his page, and I got on it real quick!   He and I happen to share a mutual love for Tame Impala, so you can imagine my joy when I saw that there is a new single released from the upcoming album Lonerism, due out October 9 via Modular.

The single is called "Elephant" and it is pretty much the best thing ever right now! Have a listen, fall in love....how ever you do it....just do it!

This is British indie pop punk at it's best, even tho they are from Dublin, Ireland..... I digress....

NEW MUSIC: HYENA - WANDER (FEAT. DAVE KEUNING FROM THE KILLERS)

[Your Name Here]Comment

Hyena are Michael Cooper & Bryan Stratman, a indie elecrto duo from San Diego, CA.  This is pretty much my favorite music right now, indie electro dance with a live drummer...man it's so much fun to listen to and so much fun to see live!  Hyena have been making waves in SoCal for a few years now, selling out San Diego shows and supporting bands like Portugal. The Man

They have a new single out called "Wander" which features Dave Keuning from The Killers - take a listen below and download it for free!
