My love for Canadian music is huge, some of my most favorite bands come from that great clean extremely nice very cold massive country. I met Current Swell when I was booking my 2012 SXSW showcase last year, and they were so sweet and really believed in the cause (at the time it was a event to raise awareness for the amazing work the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society does for our worlds oceans), so I booked them! Man - what a great live show!
They have exciting news - they have signed to Network Music Group and will be releasing their album Long Time Ago in the US on October 16. Congrats guys!! So.....check out their single "Young and Able" and download it for free!

I am a huge fan of Vacationer - when ever I need to mellow out and take a breather, I like to turn to them and I am transported to a place with lots of trees and grass and I'm drinking a fruity drink out of a coconut or something of that nature.....a pineapple perhaps.
Love their live shows, love their album Gone that was released earlier this year via Downtown Records, and this new video for "Trip" is pretty darn cool as well!!
Pretty sure Poolside is going to be my top artist of 2012! I cannot stop listening to their new album Pacific Standard Time, and I can't stop talking and blogging about them....people must get sick of hearing about it! But it's just so fucking good...........

I got home last night after having a very adventurous girls night out - that started in the ER because a broken pint class sliced open my friends leg, and 5 stitches later back at the bar where we consumed lots and lots of vodka. When I returned home after 2 am I got on my social networking sites and took a look at what was going on, naturally.....and I saw this - Total Warr remix of Is Tropical song "Land of the Nod".
Ummmmm......amazing! The fact that two bands like these fuck with each others music makes my world so much better. I have been going on and on about the Corbay EP form Total Warr that came out earlier this year, and Is Tropical is on permanent rotation on my playlist - and now they made a baby together!

Wolf Gang have announced a headlining US tour, and I am stoked. I hate to say this - but I have still not seen a live show! Last year I came across this band Gauntlet Hair - I went to see Unknown Mortal Orchestra @ Popscene in San Francisco, and they were the support band. I was so impressed by their live show I bought the vinyl and have been keeping a close eye on them ever since.
Adult Swim does this thing where they do 12 singles in 12 weeks, and this new track from Gauntlet Hair called "Righteous Black" is now being featured and you can download it for free HERE. This track is sick!!
