BEAUTIFUL BUZZZ

SWIM DEEP SIGN W/ RCA

Erin MaherComment

Congratulations to Swim Deep - it just came across their twitter that they have signed with RCA!  This is an amazing moment in any young bands career, and they have claimed that, "it's all of our dreams come true man".  This is a fun twitter feed, I find myself laughing out loud from some of their rather dry and British humored tweets - to follow Swim Deep on twitter go HERE

Swim Deep are from Birmingham, UK and have been making quite a stir across the pond as of late.  Earlier this week it was announced that they are going to support Spector on their huge UK tour this fall - which is amazing!  I would like to see them state side soon.....looks promising...maybe for SXSW?

Check out their video for "King City" above, and I also included an Is Tropical remix of the same single....because its rad!

REMIX: DRY THE RIVER - DEMONS (KING JAMES REMIX)

Erin MaherComment

Happy Friday!  While all my friends and people I would be friends with are having a blast at Lollapalooza this weekend, I will be home in Los Angeles, trying to find something to do......sigh!  How about a chill remix to kick things off - I know it's wan into the afternoon, but sometimes I don't get started till then - and on days like today a chill remix is just what I need!

Dry The River are a 5 piece from London, UK who have just blessed us with a King James Remix of dreamy romantic vocal heavy song "Deamons" and it is quite beautiful.  Peter Liddle's voice is amazing - synth it up with some chill wave beats and you have greatness!

You can download the remix above and stream the original for your listening pleasure!

REMIX: DEEP SEA ARCADE - GIRLS (YESYOU UNDER THE SEA REMIX)

Erin MaherComment

YesYou has been an Australian band I have talked about a few times before.  They are just getting started, but so far they have delivered the goods!  They have just released a new remix of "Girls" by Deep Sea Arcade - they are calling it the Under The Sea Remix......cute!  It's real good....maybe soon here we'll get a free download, but for now take a listen and dance, or head bob.....whatever you want to do....

NEW VIDEO: DAPPLED CITIES - BORN AT THE RIGHT TIME

Erin MaherComment

Dappled Cities are about to release a new record called Lake Air tomorrow - Friday August 3.  I have been trying to get my hands on it for a little pre-spin, but no such luck.  If you are in Australia you could have heard the album streaming on Rdio, but that did not help me either.  I even appealed to the band over twitter, letting them know how sad I was that I could not listen - they felt for me but still would not give it up.

So, I guess I will just have to wait around until it pops up in America, or online where I can download it.  There is a pre-order HERE but again it is for Australia.....sigh!  Com'on Dappled Cities!!  Help a girl out with that fancy download link or a dropbox situation!  This blog loves you - promise I will give it a good review!  ;-)

In the meantime - check out their new video for "Born At The Right Time" released yesterday.  I wish the Los Angeles METRO buses were like this, I would never drive again!  And can that Tim Derricourt dance....I love seeing a white boy move like that!

NEW MUSIC: BLONDE SUMMER - SLOW DAZE EP

Erin MaherComment

The best part of my week is when on either Monday (UK) or Tuesday (US) my friends release their new music to the world - or at least in their part of the world.  This week my very good friends Blonde Summer have independently released their Slow Daze EP

Get ready for some awesome surf punk tropical pop complete with fuzzy guitars and that California feeling.....this is great indie rock music.  To top that off, they have a great live show!  Blonde Summer played my SXSW showcase in 2011, and about an hour before they took the stage, a random tweet went out that Radiohead were playing - so about 2000 people showed up at my 300 capacity venue.  BANANAS!  Blonde Summer held their own and won over the crowd......it was a beautiful moment!

You can pick up the Slow Daze EP on iTunes HERE!  Please go get one - support independent artists!!
