BEAUTIFUL BUZZZ

NEW VIDEO: DRUG CABIN - WHATEVER NEVER

Erin MaherComment

Drug Cabin is an LA based band made up of Nathan Thelen (Pretty Girls Make Gaves/Moonrats) and Marcus Congleton (Ambulance LTD) and this is their new video for 'Whatever Never.'  It's a trip!  I happen to hate feet - so when you turn toes into swimming tadpoles that are then eaten by a scary looking cat and then are grown back on the feet - I was bothered a bit!  But, let's not forget about the song....it's great!  I have also caught a live show from Drug Cabin and it met all my expectations!

Drug Cabin EP came out June 19 and you can pick it up from iTunes HERE!

NEW VIDEO: NORTHEAST PARTY HOUSE - STAND TALL

Erin MaherComment

A good friend of mine turned me on to this band from Melbourne, Australia called Northeast Party House, and while the name is somewhat questionable, the music speaks for itself.  High-energy and fun dance music from down under that reflects the sounds of Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club, and Gemini Club.  Not really sure what the message is in this video, but the song is great, and that's really all that matters!

NEW VIDEO: POOLSIDE - ONLY EVERYTHING

Erin MaherComment

Poolside has swooped in and stolen my heart in 2012!  I haven't been this excited about a band since Art Vs Science - and they are two totally different electro band vibes.  This new video for 'Only Everything' is a great example of why I love this band so much!  They take you on a car ride through Los Angeles at night from the perspective of a child, and it's fucking brilliant!  Sometimes I still feel like this when I take night time drives through this beautiful city, and as I prepare to leave LA for a while, this video reminds me why I love it so much!

NEW MUSIC: PVT - SHIVER

Erin MaherComment

Australian band PVT always push their sound. Taking a more chilled electronica vibe with new track and opener to their fourth yet to be titled album, ‘Shiver’, the boys seem to be moving in a direction that is a constant reflection of their evolving musicianship.  They will be on tour this fall in the States with Menomena - check their website for dates!

NEW MUSIC: UNGDOMSKULEN - FACEMASK

Erin MaherComment

Norwegian rockers Ungdomskulen have approached their musical career with the intention of setting no restrictions for themselves, and it certainly shows. While the trio has influences in experimental rock and pop, their progressive sound is something all their own. A result of the intimacy and unbreakable bond built from weeks spent together on the road, the band’s fourth studio album, Secrecy, will be released September 25 on DATAROCK’s own YAP Records.

Second album single “Facemask” reveals itself gradually, opening with subdued guitars and vocals before kicking into full speed with an infectious mix of bass and drum that booms beneath licks of guitar.  Download it for free from the soundcloud player above!
