Jacob Dilßner aka Wankelmut is a young
24-year old producer, who relocated to his hometown Berlin 10 months
ago to study philosophy and political science. One night he started
playing around with one of his favorite songs in Ableton Live, cutting,
filtering and adding a simple 4/4 groove until Asaf Avidan & The Mojos’ bitter-sweet folk song “One Day/Reckoning Song“
turned into what has now become one of house music’s biggest European
summer anthems of 2012. The infectious song is as much a party starter,
as well as a welcoming song to relax and roam around with your friends
and loved ones after a long night out.
The song has been topping the single charts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and The Netherlands. In Germany “One Day/Reckoning Song“ managed to simultaneously hit the #1 spot in the national charts, the iTunes charts and on Beatport. A history’s first. The while the video accompanying “One Day/Reckoning Song“
has already exceeded 21 million views (watch here), there’s now a “Part 2” video,
which follows the people on their “day after”. Jacob is currently
working on various remixes and his first proper solo-release.

NEW MUSIC: GABRIEL BRUCE - PERFECT WEATHER
CommentLet's get on the darker side of things..... new music from Gabriel Bruce called "Perfect Weather" was released today via Luv Luv Luv Records. Being called a gothic disco songwriter, Bruce will have his debut full length album Love In Arms drop on October 22.
Spector frontman Fred Macpherson told NME: "There’s a friend of mine called Gabriel Bruce... He makes really dark, bleak organ music, which when you hear it, you think would mean he'd never get a deal – but he has and he really deserves it, he's brilliant."
NEW MUSIC: GOLD FIELDS - DARK AGAIN
CommentAustralia’s Gold Fields are back with their first official single “Dark Again.”
The track comes from the forthcoming album “Black Sun” due out January
2013 via Astralwerks. Following up on their spring EP release, the band
returns to the U.S. this fall with performances at Filter’s Culture
Collide Fesitval in LA on October 6 and 7, CMJ Music Marathon in
NYC, and Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin on 11/3. Bummed I will not be in LA for this one, would have loved to see a live show.....next time!

CommentIt's true, I am a big supporter of this band. Lovelife has been very busy bringing some awesome music into the world over the past few months, and today we get more! New single called 'The Key' was just sent my way and yes....I am totally into it! Their next gig is September 27 @ Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn, NY w/ Vacationer & Ghost Beach - two amazing bands who both were on my SXSW showcase this year.....to say this show is going to be sick is an understatement.

CommentCitizens! release a new video today! The band contributes their inspiration for the “True Romance” video to the image they got from a couple kissing at the Vancouver riots. Much like this scene, the song and video represent “the way in which we look for the intense personal moment to triumph over the doom and chaos of the world at large.”
