If you live in LA and are part of the music scene, you know and love this band - Foxygen! Can I still call them hometown favorites even though I have just moved to San Francisco? I'm gonna say yes! Foxygen released their debut Take The Kids Off Broadway EP earlier this year, and are now gearing up to release their first full length album We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic on January 22 via Jagjaguwar. This is their first single from that album called "Shuggie."

Comment Birmingham, UK quartet Peace have released a new video for "Bloodshake" single from their recently released Delicious EP. Huge amount of hype around this band (even tho we would never know it in the US) and the release of their debut full length album is highly anticipated.....and rightfully so! Fuzzy guitars, bouncy riffs and good time danceable beats - this is indie britpop at it's best!

CommentNext weekend is the Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco, CA! This will be my first time attending this festival, and it's gonna be a good one! Year after year Treasure Island has always delivered on putting together amazing lineups and this year is no exception!

Picking between bands at festivals can be frustrating.....but at Treasure Island there will be no need to pick and choose! I am really looking forward to seeing the following:

CommentOh happy day! Los Angeles based band Gangi have released their new album today called Gesture Is - which you can order HERE! A while back I wrote about the first single "Railways Nos. 1-27" and I described the song as wanting me to "throw glitter on everyone"......and it still does! They have also released a new video to go along with that single which I have included here for your viewing pleasure.
You should also check out their second single called "Gold" - and again, I am getting that glittery feeling. Gangi's music is fucking fantastic and if you can't see that for yourself, then you are stupid.
There is a CD release show tonight in LA, and I still lived in LA I would be there with bells on. It's at The Satellite and it's free - can't go wrong there! Gangi have more dates planned, too bad they will not be making it to the bay area this time around. Matt Gangi & Eric Chramosta - fucking brilliant! Well done!

I have been chatting about The Other Tribe for a minute - waiting for a US debut and tour - I really want to see a live show....bad! I have this feeling that it's going to make me act a fool, in a good way, like when I am with Art Vs. Science......I always act a fool with them! I have a feeling The Other Tribe is the British answer to my Australian love (sorry Art Vs. Science - you officially have competition) but I guess I will have to wait and see.
