NEW MUSIC: PVT - NIGHTFALL

There is only one thing I am bummed about over my decision to move to San Francisco, and that is I chose to move over the dates PVT was playing west coast shows .... with Menomena.  Yea, I had to miss that.  I can't even imagine how mind-blowingly good that show must have been, and now they are somewhere in middle America out of reach, and will be returning to the west coast but to the pacific northwest....again, very much out of reach! 

Then they have to make matters worse by releasing a second new single​ "Nightfall" which is so fucking good it pretty much makes me want to cry!  PVT are that special breed of experimental rockers (much like tour buddies Menomena and one of my personal favorites The Darcys) where the music strikes through your soul like lightning..... they leave an emotional imprint that you can really feel .... and this is why I love music so much!

The new PVT record Homosapien will be out in 2013, and they will be joining fellow Aussie musical friend Gotye as well as Brit punk-dancers Bloc Party for some Europe dates, and then a headlining tour in UK and Europe.  I do hope they come back to the states soon so I can fulfill my need to see this band ....  ​

NEW MUSIC: GHOST BEACH - TEAR US APART

I first started talking about Ghost Beach last year when I found one of their singles on another blog.  I instantly had to have them, and have them I did..... at my 2012 SXSW showcase.  They were so fucking great that I asked them back the next night to fill in a spot where another band had dropped out.  Ghost Beach have built their career off of just releasing singles - and there are so many great ones out now, there is enough for a whole album - GO HERE and see for yourself!  They also had a lovely EP that was released earlier this year.  I love everything they do and I am constantly talking about them to West Coast peeps.  If you are at CMJ this week in NYC, you have to catch a Ghost Beach show!  I love this new single "Tear Us Apart," I mean I really fucking love it Ghost Beach!

NEW MUSIC: HOLY GHOST! - IT GETS DARK

Holy Ghost! is back!  "It Gets Dark" is their first single in nearly a year, and my ears are so happy right​ now.  I can honestly say that Holy Ghost! was the band that really helped me find my love for indie electronic music.  Before them, I only dared to dabble in the electro world. When their first single "Hold On" dropped in ​2007 I just fell in love!  Alex & Nick are my boys and this new track is sick!  Pick it up on iTunes HERE!

REMIX: TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB - SUN (GIGAMESH REMIX)

I love this remix - what a combination of amazing artists!  One of my top favorite bands Two Door Cinema Club has been remixed by one of my top favorite DJ/Producer Gigamesh​!  This track is so dance-a-licious your ass will keep shaking four hours after the song is over! 

ALBUM STREAM: BLACK MOTH SUPER RAINBOW - COBRA JUICY

It's almost here kids - the new Black Moth Super Rainbow record Cobra Juicy.  Official release date is October 23, and if you are a fan of the smooth electronic dance jams from frontman/songwriter TOBACCO​ (aka Tom Fec) like me, you are stoked!  This will be the 5th LP release from Black Moth Super Rainbow, and his sound has been described as "Daft Punk does Strawberry Fields Forever," and if that's not the coolest thing I've ever heard then I don't know what is!  His bio states, "Back to being recorded completely solo, Cobra Juicy is a more balanced affair with as many demon skater anthems as there are lush, pretty moments.  It's also an experiment in going as far over to the pop side as possible without tearing through the wall."  Stream the Cobra Juicy album from the Rdio player above!

NEW VIDEO: GEOGRAPHER - LOVER'S GAME

New video from bay area's own Geographer was released yesterday!  "Lover's Game" is a great track, and this video is pretty cool as well!  I like anything that uses lights and water on the snare drum!  ​This single comes from the latest Geographer album Myth which came out earlier this year.  I have listened through a number of times...so good!  The bay area is exploding with amazing music, the rest of the world needs to catch up!

New track "King Of The World" is out from London outfit Amusement.  I love their sound, mellow uptempo tunes dripping with 80's synth, I totally want to take drugs and spin around a dance floor with a bunch of other people on drugs spinning......​

NEW VIDEO: BRETON - POPULATION DENSITY

Here they are again - the best thing since sliced bread!  Breton are here with a new single and video called "Population Density" and it is delish!  They have just come off a 7 week US & Europe tour, and they spent the summer touring the UK and Europe - hard working fuckers!  2012 has been huge for these young Brits with the release of first LP Other People's Problems, SXSW, first US tour, and it is all well deserved.​

This new single is great - but I am bias because I think everything they do is great!  They have a sound all their own that is dark and sexy and completely dance-tastic!  Breton has been the best thing to happen to me in 2012 and the love and friendship we share together is lovely..... I miss them!  ​

If you are lucky enough to live or be in London on October 24 you can catch the long​ awaited homecoming show at Scala!
