It's an Australian band making awesome live electronic electro-pop music! What a surprise! My love for Australian pop music is next to none, and if you know anything about me and what I talk about on Beautiful Buzzz - you know I love me some Australians! City Calm Down is my new most favorite electro-pop band from down under at the moment, and they have a new video for single "Pleasure and Consequence" which is a delicious track off their soon to be released brand-spanking-new first ever Movements EP. I really love City Calm Down because of their post-punk flavor they add to electro-pop fun - it's almost like what Ian Curtis could have been doing if he stuck around long enough to get electro. The Movements EP comes out on November 2 in Australia, again we will have to wait and see if a release makes it to the US any time soon! Thank goodness for Spotify!

CommentIt's now always bunnies, kittens and flowers full of indie pop here at Beautiful Buzzz....sometimes we like to bring it down. Brasstronaut, in one word, incredible! They are an experimental, orchestral rock outfit with tendencies to dabble in electronica. Yes kids.....orchestral electronic rock! This is the kind of music my dreams are made of...for real! Their second album titled Mean Sun was released in Canada in May, and last week it came out in Europe. Canadian's have an awesome grasp on experimental rock, the goodness just seems to flow out of that country! This new video for "Mean Sun" is beautiful and sad, after watching be prepared to be bummed - but at least you will feel something compared to all the other mindless dribble out there.

CommentNot sure if you heard, but The Darcys - Canada's most amazing experimental indie rockers - covered Aja, the 1977 smash hit record from Steely Dan, in its entirety! Not only did they make this amazing cover album, but they are offering it as a free download HERE! On top of this free album download - they are doing an Aja tour where they will play the whole album live! I mean......can shit get any better than this? Not really!!
The Darcys blow me away, they are so unbelievably talented and have this crazy emotional sound that fucks with me in the best way possible. I was honred to have them play my SXSW showcase this year - you can check out some really great picks from that HERE!

CommentHello again Death At Sea! I started following the moves this band is making at the beginning of this year, and I do believe I prophesied they would soon be HUGE! Well....HUGE has not exactly happened yet, but they are well on their way. This terribly sexy video for recent single "Drag" is proof of that! Death At Sea have such an easy-going rock sound.....like it's effortless.....with fuzzy guitars and smokey vocals - a real 90's modern sound with great patience....everything is exactly as it should be. And hello gorgeous - talented and beautiful - you can't go wrong! Yes.....yes Death At Sea - I will smoke in bed with you!

CommentPapa are back with a new single! Awesome! "Put Me To Work" is the first new piece of music we have heard from the Los Angeles indie rockers for a minute! This song is a perfect mix of everything that is awesome about indie rock.... the end of this track gets into my soul and I feel like doing summersaults are cartwheels or something of that nature! They'll be doing some shows with Grouplove the second half of November.....that's pretty cool!

You remember some of these guys from that British gritpop band Viva Brother..... this is totally different and new and so fucking good! I know they'll be coming to the west coast soon, and I can't wait!
