Really excited for new music from my beautiful friends Great Northern! They have a new record coming out very very soon that I happen to know is AMAZING! Today they released a cover of "Bonnie & Clyde" which was featured on the season finale of Gossip Girl.
NEW MUSIC: MITZI - ALL I HEARD
CommentIt's Australian dance pop hour here at Beautiful Buzzz! At least once a day we take the time to listen to our most favorite dance pop, indie pop, electro pop music on the planet .... Australian pop! Last month we talked about Mitzi, a new discovery for us here on the best coast. I am happy to say that a new single was put up on Soundcloud today, and it is dance-floor-groove-a-licious!
Mitzi have a new album coming out on Feb 19 via Future Classic called Truly Alive, and I have a feeling it is going to be the 2013 kick off album that lasts all year! Will we see some Mitzi love in the states sometime in the next year? I really hope so, I bet the live shows are bananas! SXSW appearance perhaps? Fingers crossed! Keep your eyes and ears open for this one kids!
NEW MUSIC: STRFKR - LEAVE IT ALL BEHIND
CommentAlright, alright everyone just calm down! I swear people totally lose their minds over this band STRFKR - and rightfully so....they are really fuckin' great! Some people I know have been recently posting pictures on their instagram showing that STRFKR is following them on twitter and that it's like the greatest thing ever! My friends are cute!

NEW MUSIC: CHINA RATS - TO BE LIKE I

In July, China Rats a brand new band from Leeds, were booked to play the tiny Villa Camp stage at massive European festival BENICASSIM the night before the start of the main festival. The result was an impromptu mosh pit and a festival booker who wished he had booked them for the main festival. When the following day, Bat For Lashes, who were booked to headline the 2nd Stage, couldn't make it onto the site, the festival booker took his chance; China Rats stepped up to the plate and bigger mosh pits ensued. It is the material Rock n Roll folklore is made of.
A proper debut single will be released in March 2013 and expect the band’s first US shows at SXSW etc to follow shortly afterwards.
China Rats formed in Leeds in the Summer of 2011, released their debut EP To Be Like I on Once Upon A Time Records in UK and quickly earned the attention of BBC Radio 1's champion of new bands Huw Stephens as well as a flurry of European radio support from the likes of Absolute, Q and BBC 6 Music in the UK, 3FM in Holland, FM4 in Austria, national radio RN3 in Spain, P3 in Sweden amongst others.

NEW VIDEO: GOLD FIELDS - DARK AGAIN
CommentMy 2012 has been complete for the most part because of one band - Gold Fields (and Breton, but that's a different story)! They have closed out this year with a bang! I am just a big puddle of goo over them! These Australian bands just tear shit up like no ones business! Last year it was Aussie electro rockers Art Vs Science who stole my heart, and then I ended up doing two 1/2 US/Canadian tours with them. Now Gold Fields have come into my life, and I am very excited for what's to come in 2013! There will be a new album released on February 26 called Black Sun, there will be another US tour, they will be at SXSW, and I will most likely be talking about all these things! Yesterday MTV premiered their new video for "Dark Again" - so please watch and hear all the same kind of greatness I do, and if you have not seen the review from last months San Francisco show, check that out HERE!
NEW MUSIC: ON AN ON - GHOSTS / THE HUNTER
CommentChicago/Minneapolis trio ON AN ON are excited to announce 2013 tour dates in support of their debut album Give In, out January 29 on Roll Call Records. They join San Francisco's Geographer for the month of January, and finish with two headline gigs in NYC in early February. The band will then tour the UK and Europe before returning to the states for SXSW 2013.
ON AN ON have been taken aback by the overwhelming reception to their music thus far. The first two singles off the record, "Ghosts" and "The Hunter," have shot to the top of the Hype Machine Most Popular chart and garnered the band a growing fan base both at home and abroad. The international attention has lead to ON AN ON's signing to the venerable indie label City Slang Records for the UK and Europe, and a deal with Tugboat/P-Vine, home to the likes of Bjork in Japan.
ON AN ON - Nate Eiesland, Alissa Ricci, and Ryne Estwing-have played music with one another in various capacities for the better part of a decade. The culmination of a long and precarious, but ultimately rewarding journey, Give In was recorded with producer Dave Newfeld, known for his work on Broken Social Scene's seminal album You Forgot It In People as well as records from Super Furry Animals and Los Campesinos.
