ALBUM STREAM: RA RA RIOT - BETA LOVE

Alright!  The first big US release of the year - and we have been looking forward to this one kids!  Ra Ra Riot's new album Beta Love drops on Tuesday January 22!  You can stream the album in its entirety right here right how!  You can still pre-order the album HERE - and I am sure after a listen you will want to do just that!   Beta Love is dance pop perfection!  Ra Ra Riot will be on tour through March and will be hitting SXSW in Austin, TX!  Listen and love! 

NEW VIDEO: FLUME - LEFT ALONE (FEAT. CHET FAKER)

Flume's debut record, which is out in the US on February 19 via Mom+Pop, has already gone "Gold" in his home country of Australia.  Lately, the US has started to catch on.  Personally, I can't wait to catch a live show - Flume will be at SXSW this year, and there is a San Francisco date in April which is not announced yet......but trust me on this one!  This video is rad, this single is sick! 

NEW VIDEO: SIN FANG - LOOK AT THE LIGHT

Sindri Már Sigfússonaka Sin Fang and Icelandic collective Seabear's founder and mastermind, has debuted a new video for "Look At The Light."   The pulsating lights in the clip create an almost three-dimensional effect, accompanying the unusual and beautiful world Sin Fang has created and is known for.  "Look At The Light" is taken from his third solo album, Flowers, recorded & produced by Alex Somers (Sígur Rós, Jónsi) and set for release on February 19 with Morr Music.  Sin Fang just performed at this year's Iceland Airwaves and will be returning to the US for SXSW 2013 behind his new release! 

NEW MUSIC: MENOMENA - TOOMER

Barsuk Records is excited to announce that Menomena are digitally releasing a double A-side single, featuring the tracks "Toomer" and "Banyon."  Both tracks originated from the session from their latest full-length Moms, and will be available via iTunes.  Menomena are heading out on a winter tour next month in support of Moms.  The dates, which include support from Guards, start on February 12 at the Mill in Iowa City and wrap up March 2nd at the Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City - check HERE for the full list of tour dates. 

NEW MUSIC: YOUNG BOYS - LOVE HITS

With a rooted affinity for black-leather noise, synth-strewed weirdness and layered, wall-of-sound pop, Young Boys is a story that crisscrosses the continent.  Dark post-punk that sizzles with just the right amount of droned-out fuzz, this Brooklyn based outfit are set to release their debut LP, New York Sun on February 26 via LA-based digital and vinyl label, Holloweyed Records.

The first single, "Love Hits," is a head bobbing post-punk anthem full of clattering guitars and thumping basslines that IFC notes is "like if Joey Ramone spent a lot of time listening to the Dum Dum Girls. In a good way, though."

Formed by Oakland-bred David "Legs" McDaniel who, after traveling across the country, guitar in hand, looking for love and a place to call home, hooked up with fellow slimers Ethan Miller and a Minneapolis-bred player Lee Lichtsinn to solidify ranks in New York City.

Now knee-deep in NY grime and projected through technicolor static, Young Boys come armed with a pair of out-of-tune guitars, a drum machine and a certain, crunchy cohesion.  The trio's slobbering stance on classic garage pop balladry has awarded them gigs alongside Crocodiles, Sleigh Bells, Dengue Fever and Ex Cops and gathered praise from NME and The Village Voice.

NEW MUSIC: NERVOUS NELLIE - GLOVES

Stockholm's Nervous Nellie is pleased to make their American debut with their infectious indie romp "Gloves" which just premiered at Paste Magazine. The Gloves EP which showcases four superb indie pop gems, alongside one remix by The Shout Out Louds' Adam Olenius, will be released on February 12 worldwide. 

The dark and pulsating title-track works itself into an emotional explosion of jangly guitars backed by the anthem-esque chorus. The EP and forthcoming LP were produced by Andreas Söderlund who shared mixing duties with knob-turner extraordinaire Anders Hvenare (Miike Snow, Niki & The Dove).

NEW MUSIC: IVAN & ALYOSHA - RUNNING FOR COVER

Lately I have been getting in touch with my love for folk music, which is a love/hate relationship to say the least.  However, I have been listening to so many great folk and alternative folk bands who are going to SXSW, I remember there is more to life than dance music! 

Seattle's Ivan & Alyosha are thrilled to announce spring 2013 tour dates in support of their debut album All The Times We Had, out February 26th via Missing Piece and Dualtone Music Group. The band will celebrate the album release with a February 23 hometown show at the Showbox in Seattle, followed by an in-store performance at Sonic Boom records on release day. They take to the road in March, supported by New York's The Lone Bellow, playing dates all across North America, including a stop at SXSW 2013.

Early praise is already rolling in for All The Times We Had, which will debut in full on NPR's First Listen on February 11th.  Esquire tipped the band as one of 15 to watch this year, and raved "the line for first great summer song of 2013 starts here" when describing first single "Running For Cover" - which you can stream above!  They will be playing Brick & Mortar in San Francisco on March 20!
