NEW MUSIC: HOLLAGRAMZ - CORUNDUM
CommentNothing pleases me more than waking up, turning on my computer and through pre-coffee sleepy eyes, finding great new music in my inbox! I have just learned about Hollagramz in the last 5 minutes, and I am pretty much hooked!
Denver, CO's Ron Cole AKA Hollagramz is quickly proving to be one of the most innovate producers to emerge from the Mile High City. Having taken influence from a wide array of genres such as techno, garage, tropical, world sounds, new wave and 90’s rave, Hollagramz has coined the term “Atlantean Techno” to describe his wholly unique, retro-futuristic sound.
This new track "Corundum" comes from the debut HOLLAGRAMZ LP which will be available June 4. You can pre-order that bad boy on purple vinyl HERE!
REMIX: THE 1975 - THE CITY (NO CEREMONY/// REMIX)
CommentUgh!!!! I love this! NO CEREMONY/// have done a brilliant remix of "The City" by The 1975. NO CEREMONY/// are so amazing, they killed the Beautiful Buzzz SXSW showcase this year and we are huge supporters! The 1975 will be making their Bay Area debut at Popscene on July 25! Grab this remix as a free download!
NEW MUSIC: VIAL OF SOUND - GHOST DITCH
CommentVial of Sound was initially a hobby during law school of collecting vintage analog synthesizers but it soon bloomed into an obsession. It turns out that they spent their student loans to collect vintage synthesizers. That’s right, money from the government to further their education. I’m not sure that student loan money has ever been better spent, honestly. Most student loan money is spent on drugs and alcohol, but the cats from Vial of Sound chose instead to spend it on analog synthesizers that are almost assuredly older than they are. This is the crux of their sound and dimensions. They are mavericks in a way, and believe me when I say that no one sounds like them on the planet currently—this makes them something of an anomaly and a band that is sure to make an impression.
Their second EP Substance Organique Volatile drops July 2, but you can pre-order it HERE!
REMIX: WHITE ARROWS - I CAN GO (TAPIOCA & THE FLEA REMIX)
CommentIt has been fun watching White Arrows come of age, and after killing their set at my SXSW showcase in 2012, I became a true fan. It's great so see that Los Angeles is still churning out amazing bands! Another LA band, Tapioca & The Flea (who I have been keeping an eye on for a little over a year) have just released a pretty great remix of "I Can Go" by White Arrows! Maybe Tapioca & The Flea are on that same golden road that White Arrows are currently traveling.... You can grab this bad boy as a free download too! Sweet!!
NEW VIDEO: THE KNOCKS - MODERN HEART (FEAT. ST. LUCIA)
CommentI have been out with a cold which makes for not a very fun holiday weekend, but alas I am finally coming back to life - and what better way to do so than with a sweet new video from The Knocks! Single "Modern Hearts (Feat. St. Lucia)" has been on every cool playlist for the past few weeks - it's a smashing dance hit - one of the best this year. The new video is sexy....would have been a great Range Rover commercial too, or it practically is one! Hotness!!
REMIX: SAY LOU LOU - JULIAN (THE CHAINSMOKERS REMIX)
CommentThe Chainsmokers are two guys from New York, Alex and Drew, who are pretty cool! And they make fun party time dance music too. And they remix some pretty bad ass songs, like "Julian" by Say Lou Lou. And they offer said remixes for a free download, which is always fun. And they know how to write one hell of an email, but that's besides the point! Download and dance kids!
NEW MUSIC: HAERTS - ALL THE DAYS
CommentIf you have not heard about this band HAERTS yet - you are missing the indie pop boat! They belong to that elite group of bands who are kinda just showing up and busting out in our small little indie electro world - I mean where did they really come from, and how long will it take before they are top 40? We have HAERTS now, so enjoy before you can't stand them anymore - because they really are amazing!
NEW VIDEO: JAGWAR MA - MAN I NEED
CommentJagwar Ma has just released a new video for their amazing track "Man I Need" this week, and of course it's amazing! Psychedelic animation intertwined with the Jagwar Ma boys dancing - pretty much can't go wrong here. What I need..... is more Jagwar Ma in my life...all the time! I sware I could listen to them 24 hours a day and not get sick of it! Brilliant!
