Yay! My little darlings Carousel have a new tune to share with the world today! This year we have become close with this amazing synth pop duo from Los Angeles - couple of great guys who are super talented and write brilliant pop songs! They just killed our Beautiful Buzzz show #SIX in San Francisco with Com Truise last month, where I had a beer with Jackson's mom - and you better believe we will be having them back sometime this year! Carousel's new song is called "Not Enough" and it's delicious!

CommentThis is the bubbliest season ever for French Pop, as we prepare for PENDENTIF, one of the most charming newcomers on the French pop scene. Their name, taken from a piece of jewellery worn by women, highlights the more feminine side of the quintet from Bordeaux. The title of their first album Mafia Douce (Sweet Mafia) is an oxymoron used to describe a group of friends borrowing from each others.
For their first album, PENDENTIF called on producer and engineer Antoine Gaillet (M83, Herman Düne). Blending immediacy, elegance and refinement, PENDENTIF succeed brilliantly in combining their Anglo-Saxon models (Real Estate, Poolside, Foals, Tennis, The Weeknd, Frank Ocean) with their very own national music and cinematographic heritage (Serge Gainsbourg, Charles Trenet, Lio, Betty Blue, Love Without Pity...).
The 12 songs on the album Mafia Douce tell the stories of those stolen moments, burgeoning romances, pointless ballads and night calls. With a rare groove and perfectly crafted song writing, PENDENTIF are a trans-Atlantic voyage halfway between light-hearted pop and music to dance to : « I left my country to find some elegance» as sung in duo by Benoit and Cindy in “God save la France”.

Really! Today Classixx has released their ever so fabulous new video for "All Your're Waiting For" and it has put me in the mood to disco at sea! My little angels Ghost Beach have a new video for their new song "Moon Over Japan" - video is great, the song is amazing, but expecting anything less from this New York dance pop band is unthinkable! I think I can super relate to the girl in this video, I mean I would totally have Ghost Beach posters on my wall too, and when I see Ghost Beach live I sometime feel like I have transformed into some sort of alien creature in reaction to my excitement! Yeaaaa buddy! Spending the last 2 years watching Ghost Beach evolve has been crazy fun, and finally we are going to have a debut album later this year! Keep your ears open, Ghost Beach are going to take over the world!

CommentToday, Smallpools is revealing a brand new EP track, “Mason Jar”, to kick start their first ever tour with Australia’s San Cisco and their first ever live show on July 13 at Brooklyn Bowl. This is a perfect modern pop song - it has every element! Chanting, tribal like drums, bouncy high guitar, doubbled vocal, super catchy melody - it's good! I am dying to see how their first shows go after all this hype! We'll see them in the bay soon at Popscene on August 8 - can't wait!
