I fucking love this band! Claire is on the top of my SXSW wishlist - for real! Today the German electro pop band released Broken Promise Land EP via Astralwerks. I have pretty much been listening non-stop! The Munich-based five-piece offer up a wide swath of reference points - electro, indie, pop, even some R&B - resulting in a Technicolor hybrid of wistful, electronic, synthpop that is uniquely Claire's own. CommentIt happens from time to time - I get musically stumped. Normally I take pride that many times I am ahead of the curve when it comes to new and up-in-coming bands, I love introducing new tracks to people and exposing them to great relevantly new artists. I consider myself a taste maker, because really it's the only thing I am good at! I can't cook, I can't find and keep a good man, I can't write my own songs, but I can tell you who is going to be the next big band 6 months from now - and I am always right!
So when I received an email from dreamy NY indie electronic house producers The Chainsmokers this morning, you can imagine my surprise when I did not know what they were talking about pertaining to their new remix, and I actually feel quite silly. Has anyone else heard of The Wanted because up until 5 minutes ago I had no idea what they were talking about! The Chainsmokers have delivered another great remix for "We One The Night" by The Wanted, who apparently are the biggest British boy band in the whole world, and I have no idea who they are, and I really don't care - if The Chainsmokers remix it, I'll talk about it. I may not know who one of the biggest boy bands in the world are, but damn I sure know how to make you dance!
Go buy this track on Beatport - they want to chart and they deserve it!!
