I've been so busy with life these past few weeks that I have not had a chance to focus on any premieres, which is a bummer because I love premieres. When this track hit my desk however, I could not resist. inverness is a rising producer from NYC who is connected with the all the cool kids on that coast. Today he drops "Can't Keep Us" via PRMD and it's simply delicious! inverness mixes big glitchy future beats with bold brassy hits for some awesome feel good vibes ... I'm loving this! BRYCE FOX - COLDHEARTED

Music, Original MixEricComment

I'm a little late getting around to supporting this, but I had to show some love to Bryce Fox's new tune "Coldhearted." I've been a big fan of this project since day 1 and it only seems to be getting better. This latest tune starts acoustic with just piano and Bryce, but quickly slides into full bloom with a downward whistle that busts into percussion. With the momentum we've seen so far from this camp I'm sure we'll be seeing Bryce's name up on festival bills really soon.

JAI WOLF - STARLIGHT FT. MR GABRIEL

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

So .... the 80's new wave vibe coming off this new Jai Wolf track is everything! It must have been an amazing time to be alive in the early 80's, when new wave was breaking and the youth were feeling sad and expressing themselves through synths! "Starlight" is the latest from our young Moving Castle hero, and the one thing I have always admired about Jai Wolf is that he's not afraid to use the sounds and vibes that he loves. There is a ton of beauty and feeling here, allowing us to think about what we are hearing and not just throwing trap arms (even tho I love to throw some trap arms). Jai Wolf had me at day one, and "Starlight" is just another shining example of his brilliance. Swoop this one HERE!

SYRE - NEXT TO ME

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

The more Canadians I have in my life - the better! This yung Vancouver producer SYRE has just dropped a sweet new track via Next Wave, and it gave me goosebumps just 20 seconds in. "Next To Me" makes me feel like floating on a cloud of soft pillowy love with swirly vocals and dreamy melodies, all tied together with a sexy electro dance beat. Yummy! SYRE is just starting to make some moves in our musical world, I can't wait to hear what's next! And Next Wave -- crushing the releases!

AUTOGRAF - YOU MIGHT BE FT. LILS

Music, Original Mix, RemixErin MaherComment

The love I have for the Autograf boys is like none other.  It's all jokes and good times with these legends, and they are always pitting out the best tracks. We all like to shake our bootys' to all their sweet sweet jams! Tilting towards that deep house vibe they explore every so often, Autograf release a beautiful new dance-pop gem "You Might Be ft. Lils" that's giving me all the feels! With deep bouncy rhythms and sultry vocals, this one is gonna make the top of your weekly playlists.  Just in case you missed it, we also included their remix of "We Are Your Receiver" by Klangstof that came out a few weeks back! Get into this kids!

DONNY - GROWING PAINS

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Sometimes your just in the mood for some dark electro pop vibes .... and today I am starting off my day with this dreamy crooner Donny. He just released a new single "Growing Pains" that's a fantastic R&B infused pop track everyone should get into. With it's moody melodies and voluptuous vocals, Donny gives us a sad break-up love song that seems like it comes straight from a 1930's mystery movie with a modern twist. Loving this!

ROBOTAKI - DRUNK FT. REECE

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

We've been waiting to talk about this track for a minute y'all! Our loves over at Next Wave Records keep killing it - just the other day I was over at their new offices + storefront on Melrose in Los Angeles checking out the new space and doing hangs with them and the Moving Castle crew ... and wow ... what an exciting time for these young industry buffs to be making moves. "Drunk ft. Reece" by Canadian legend Robotaki is everything! This young producer crushed our SXSW show in Austin a few weeks back, and now his track is doing the same! So many soulful future feels here ... and Reece's vocals and words are heartbreaking in all the right ways. I'm swooning! Robotaki has raised the bar.

KASBO - FOUND YOU (FEAT. CHELSEA CUTLER)

MusicMike DooseComment

It wouldn’t be a week in new music without another release from some under 21 youngster who’s got mind-blowing production talent. Sweden’s Kasbo, whose remixes of Big Gigantic, Vance Joy, and Mutemath we’ve featured previously, is here with his third original song out today via San Holo’s label bitbird. For “Found You” he’s teamed up with Ultra signee Chelsea Cutler who’s already had a busy 2017 with a string of stellar collabs with the likes of Louis The Child, ayokay, and Kidswaste. Beginning with modulated vocal bends and the sounds of birds chirping leading into Cutler’s dainty sing-song melodies, the track goes on to emulate the subtle floating emotions of ecstasy that come with finding someone with whom the feeling is mutual. In three minutes, Kasbo with his playful percussion and vibey synths and Cutler with her airy sweet vocals have managed to create an impressive tune that exemplifies young love in 2017.

STEPHEN - CROSSFIRE, PART III (FEAT. SABA, RAVYN LENAE, THE O'MY'S & J.P. FLOYD)

MusicMike DooseComment

Okay so Stephen is one of my all-time favorites. The LA-based artist has 100% blown me away with everything he’s done and to see him collaborating with a whole crew of artists from my home town of Chicago is so cool. Hell, I’ve fucked with Saba since way before his collabs with Chance back when my college’s student-run record label released a compilation featuring him on multiple tracks. If you know Chicago music, you know The O’My’s have been killing it around the Windy City for a hot minute, and while I’m unfamiliar with Ravyn Lenae and J.P. Floyd, they both bring something incredible to this collab, Lenae with her silky pipes and Floyd with the badass brass swagger. All in all, while turning a track into a trilogy could be seen by some as a lazy move creatively or that he’s “milking” the hit, I for one am not at all mad that Crossfire has turned into it’s own little movement. The song’s message, supported by the powerful track artwork, also speaks to the violence that’s continually prevalent in Chicago’s South and West Side neighborhoods and the difficulties local children face growing up there that much of us can’t even imagine. I’ve been told 15 percent of all earnings from this record are going to Young Chicago Authors, a creative after school program serving 10,000 youths per year. The only thing better than dope music is dope music with a meaningful message.
