[PREMIERE] TIM ATLAS - COUNTERFEIT

Master of vintage vibes and soulful swag, the one and only Tim Atlas is back with a new tune just as he prepares to embark on his All Talk! Summer Tour, and we’re excited to have the honor of premiering it for you today on this lovely New Music Friday. 

Clocking in at just under three minutes, “Counterfeit” is a short and sweet slice of classic Tim Atlas grooviness. Replete with a sassy bass line, plenty of cowbell, sexy synths, and cheeky gang vocals for good measure—it’s a bouncy toe tapper that’ll have you moving without even realizing it. Tim’s soft and subdued vocals glide above the 80’s rock drums, nostalgic synths and jazzy guitar and bass licks. Like most of Atlas’ music, it transports you back to an earlier era while maintaining an air of contemporary electro-funk of which the likes of Chromeo or Cherub would likely be fans. 

Speaking about the track, Tim said:
"We're all guilty of indulging in something when we know we shouldn’t. But we do it anyway because we’re human and we often choose that feeling over what actually makes sense."

ELI WAY - PAPERCUT (FEAT. CEHRYL)

Eli Way is a groovemaster. If you haven't yet heard of him, get hip to the program! The Chicago-based producer has a knack for crafting jazzy, vibey tunes which pair classical stylings with modern production sensibilities. His latest number “Papercut” features previous collaborator Cehryl, who also lent her smooth vocals to “If It Makes You Happy” and arrives via uber-hip tastemaker label Majestic Casual Records. Perfect for a lazy afternoon relaxing in the shade, this jam is sure to please existing Eli Way fans and will also serve as a welcome introduction to new ears who haven’t yet discovered his talent.

I am beyond thrilled to announce this next show.  For years we've been wild about this young man right here ... his funky disco dance vibes are pretty much the best thing in life. Now, we're bringing Touch Sensitive back to the bay to debut his LIVE set on June 22 at Mezzanine! Not only is this going to be the greatest dance party of the year, it's also kicking off Pride Weekend .... so grab your rainbow flags and disco balls and come out for the time of your lives!  Tickets go on sale this Friday April 6 at 10am! THANKS - I CAN GET (BASTION REMIX)

Talk about a fresh funky dance jam! It’s been out for a couple weeks now, but I couldn’t let this one go unnoticed. While I hadn’t heard the original “I Can Get” by Danish duo THANKS until being sent this, I’m now a fan of both the original and this hyped up bouncy retro French Electro/House edit from Parisian duo BASTION. This is the kind of jam that I feel would even earn the respect of funk masters like James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, and the Ohio Players. Excuse me while I get down in my kitchen to this right now.

[PREMIERE] GIGAMESH - WORK! FT. KALEENA ZANDERS

I'll tell you one thing ... there is nothing in the world like a Gigamesh track! Our next premiere is going to get your blood pumping on this warm Friday morning, prepare yourself for ultimate pleasure. "Work!" has all that funky indie dance flavor with the luscious signature Gigamesh sound that makes any dance floor explode with joy! Its bouncy rhythm and killer soulful vocals from our girl Kaleena Zanders give us that super fun party vibe ... this 100% made my day! You guys can swoop this one HERE and blast it all weekend! FEELS!

TWO FRIENDS - KYLE FT. LIL YACHTY - ISPY (TWO FRIENDS REMIX)

Back in December 2016, two rising hip hop stars, KYLE and Lil Yachty teamed up to drop the radio sensation, "iSpy." You know, the pop-rap banger where 24 year old KYLE celebrates his ability to wife up a honey who doesn't get much social media interaction. It's decent. Definitely plays over and over (and over, and over, and over, and..) in your head. But, Two Friends just dropped a remix for the the bubbly track, giving it the classically funky treatment it needed. Two Friends is composed of, you guessed it, two friends based in L.A., Matt Halper and Eli Sones. The duo, formerly high school "bedroom producers," is not new to executing remixes for radio-popular songs, Two Friends even put their own spin on The Killers' "Mr. Brightside," which became a viral splash in the EDM community. This particular remix of "iSpy" is brassy, funky, and simply enough, fun. They took the established "party vibe" of the original track, added some jazz fusion ingredients, and out came a vibrant, effervescent remix that we didn't even know we needed. The remix is a Soundcloud summer blockbuster. It's just, happy. I am all about the indie-electronic, down tempo, romantic reverb, but there is really nothing like capturing the energy of a day-party and translating it into a song. Two Friends is proving that they are more than deserving of their 23 #1 spots on Hype Machine. Get jiggy with this new track, not because Beautiful Buzzz told you to, but because the hype is just totally real. Plus, they're like, super cute. 

CUT COPY - AIRBORNE

This is our shitt right here. New Cut Copy means happiness in a lot of people's earholes. This heavenly piece of music will take you "Airborne" with their perfectly groovy bassline, perky drumming and funky guitars. As eclectic as it is magnificent we're treated with flittering blips of rhythmic hits rising out above the flowing pads. The resolute chorus of falsetto singers chant "That don't stop me" as the song bumps along. We've heard rumours that this is the first of more to come as the band has been recording a all over the globe in the past year. Sign us up Cut Copy...it's been too long. Add this on Spotify here.
