Recently I have begun to fall in love with Darwin Deez. His song writing is magical! Pretty sure he is on the top of my list of bands to see at SXSW in Austin this year, however he will be here in San Francisco at Bottom of the Hill on March 7! Rad!
“Free” is but the first, scintillating, teaser from Darwin’s forthcoming sophomore album Songs For Imaginative People, which is to be released February 11 on Lucky Number.
The record sees Darwin pushing his idiosyncratic pop talents to
heretofore-unexplored territory, with the result being his most
sonically ambitious and deliriously melodic album yet.
East London’s Billy turns it out like Darwin’s been hangin’ at the after-party in cahoots with both Solange Knowles and LCD Soundsystem - whilst managing to bring out the intimate narrative of "Free". It's beautiful.
