SWINDAIL - C'EST LA VIE (FEAT. INNANET JAMES)

Music, TourMike DooseComment

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared any new music on here. Basically my day job has started consuming my life and I have less time for doing the things I love that generate no income for me, like sharing dope tunes! But I just couldn’t pass up this track. From the first listen to Australian wünderkind producer Swindail’s new jam “C’est la Vie” I was immediately hooked by the bumping hip hop heater. Swindy has some of the best sound design in the business when it comes to percussion, and here he crafts the perfect vibe over which Innanet James spits some seriously fire verses. It’s just a banger that instantly makes you want to turn up and enjoy some fine-quality substances, if they’re legal in your state and you’re of legal age of course.

For our Aussie readers, catch Swindail on his first full headlining AUS tour over the coming months.

As his Soundcloud tersely puts it: “tour on sale rite fkn now: swindail.com

SIDIZEN KING - STUCK IN THE MIDDLE

Music, Original MixEricComment

Dayumm this is tightt! Sidizen King sent over his previous release "Eye for an Eye" a few months ago, and I was instantly hooked! I listened through the rest of his catalogue, and it's tracks like his latest "Stuck In The Middle" that are proving to me that Sid is 100% the real deal. Full disclosure, I've recently become homies with this dude and I can tell you this train is just pickin' up speed. The production from casualkimono is on point and Sid's rhymes flow perfectly alongside the infectious chorus hook "stuck in the middle." If feel good hip hop if your thing then this citizen is KING! Add this to your fave jams playlist on Spotify, and you can also nab this as a free download right hurrr!

DAKK - MOVE ON

MusicMike DooseComment

I have a new obsession and he goes by the name of Dakk. I rarely get this excited about hip hop. In fact I can count on one hand the number of rappers that I listen to on a weekly basis. When I first heard Dakk (real name Kyle Donald) on MEMBA’s “Brave” (which if you haven't heard, you need to) I immediately knew this guy was something special. The Northern California native has impeccable vocal control and dynamic flow. On “Move On” you can hear attitude reminiscent of greats like Eminem or Kendrick and soft poignant verses not unlike Chicago rappers like Chance the Rapper. His music feels raw and from the heart. Throw in a memorable chorus and perfectly complimentary progressive beats courtesy of MEMBA, and this track is an early favorite of 2017 so far.

MEMBA - BRAVE (FEAT. DAKK & GIIA)

MusicMike DooseComment

Bringing the HEAT once again, it's MEMBA, the NYC production duo showing us their worldly trap chops and wide-ranging talent. "Brave" is the kind of track that would win Best Rap/Sung Collaboration if the Grammy's actually featured forward-thinking dope music. Talented female vocalist and frequent MEMBA collaborator GIIA's gorgeous vocal melodies temper Dakk's hard and energetic verses. All of this takes place on a stage of the most glorious progressive beats and synths. Sound design: on point. Musicality: on point. Certified gold. Grab a free DL here. Or if you're like me and don't download music anymore, peep it on Spotify here.
