One of the more exciting things we’ve done in the past few weeks is announce our COLORIZE show featuring Matt Fax and this legend DEZZA. Today Canadian producer DEZZA released this latest remix of “Just a Dream ft. Lipless” by Late Night Alumni … and we are swooning. This vocal is like the coolest!!! DEZZA spreads his progressive house flavor all over this track … it’s like butter! This will be one to include on your weekend party playlist, you can swoop it HERE!
Today I am looking back over the past few weeks to see if I can find a few gems I may have missed … there are so many tracks that I want to post, but then life gets in the way. I’m experiencing a very slow day in the office (where are all the agents?) so here we go! Aussie rising star Running Touch has been releasing all that delicious electronic dance goodness over the last few years, and German producer plus dance music legend Tensnake put his spin on this new remix of “Make Your Move” … and all I can say is VIBES for days and days! This deep house jam is full of that sexy dark dance floor sound that we swoon over …. can’t get enough!
Traversing the vibrant world of nu-disco, pioneer of groove LA Felix casts NYC-based producer LEFTI for this intoxicating remix of his original cut, “Too Many Lies.” Boasting his formidable writing style, LEFTI stitches this flip together with lush guitar plucks, funky synths, and flamboyant chord progressions. A nod to the golden age of disco, this remix breathes a refreshing new life into the boundless stream of this multi-faceted genre. A shimmering cut saturated in glamour, this “Too Many Lies” remix is a polished summertime gem that effortlessly collides with the original track. Pairing well citrus and pastels, this LEFTI flip solidifies his position as a funk aficionado.
Making steadfast gains in his early career, anonymous producer juuku returns with remix of Graves’ “I’m Fine” ft. EZI. Giving the original cut a charming treatment, juuku layers the track with dazzling sound design and emotive chord progressions. The remix ascends a fascinating crescendo that quickly drops into staggered digital bits. Prompting an immersive listening experience, juuku continues to solidify himself as exciting act to watch this year.
Following the well-received unveiling of his widow [OBLIVION pt. 1] album, LA-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Crywolf is casting colleagues and new-found producers alike for his release of The OBLIVION [Reimagined]. The debut curtain call for the forthcoming remix catalog goes to Chicago-based producer Mielo. With three years of success under his belt, the versatile producer gives an 80s inspired treatment to “DRIP.” While the original joint was cut with geometric soundscapes and syncopated melodies, Mielo rinses out the track with a bit of buoyancy. A slow, narcotic intro complements Crywolf’s haunting signature sound, later blossoming into a futuristic network of punchy drum kicks and electrifying synths. A gritty film cascades atop echoing vocals, projecting colorful shadows throughout this dynamic remix. An immersive listening experience, Mielo’s clever sound design stands as the archetypal introduction to Crywolf’s The OBLIVION [Reimagined]. Watch this space.
Establishing himself as a rising electronic visionary, juuku returns with his animated remix of Teflon Sega’s 2017 single, “Beretta Lake” ft. SAINt JHN. The expansive joint sweeps across a plane of glitchy synths highlighting in glowing color juuku’s signature sound. Sending the track’s conscious hip-hop verses through a speedy envelope, “Beretta Lake” is revolutionized into an electronic, afro-centric feat. Leaving no stone unturned, the ever so allusive juuku continues to solidify himself as a thrilling act to watch.
Thank god it’s Friday! I don’t know about you kids, but this week has been a doozy. I am experiencing a new emotion every 10 minutes … I guess you can say the stress of adulting is bringing me down. Best way for me to lift these blues is find the closest party and hit that dance floor on the deep end. I need that dirty deep house music … that kind that feeds your soul … you know what I’m talking about! This new Township Rebellion remix of “Visions ft. RBBTS” by Lane 8 is siiiick … I am getting all the feels I am needing. With heavy deep dark melodic melodies and ethereal vocals, this production duo wants us to get lost in ourselves and feel something. I love it! You can buy/stream this track HERE!
“Treat You Better” by RÜFÜS DU SOL is one of my favorite side 01/track 01 jams ever. I know we really don’t have sides any more, but let’s just pretend we holding vinyl. So good! It’s energy and vibe is everything that’s amazing in the world. Lucky for us, our homie and Australian producer CASSIAN just delivered a delicious remix of said track and were swooning. This one is dance floor fire y’all!
Speaking of the dance floor - we have a show coming up with CASSIAN in San Francisco on May 17. It will be his debut headline live show at The Independent! Get ready for greatness - his life set is bananas good. Tickets are on sale now and you can grab them below. Hopefully I’ll see all you bay area peeps there!
Relatively new to the music industry, enigmatic producer Juuku shines on his remix of Yetep’s “Gravity.” Adding a chromatic filter to the already seductive vocals of Daisy, Juuku turns “Gravity” into an out-of-this-world experience. A synth-based ebb and flow oscillates an atmospheric chord progression, creating an immersive adventure. A breathy production teeters between darkness and optimism, making this remix a palpable effort. Despite being a new face to the industry, Juuku is far from novice- watch this space.
