SCAVENGER HUNT - SWEET TALK

Music, Original MixEricComment

Scavenger Hunt has dialed up something super delicious for us in their lush new single "Sweet Talk." This LA four piece has flirted with BB a few times thanks to our boy Satin Jackets and his remix of "Kiss Me Clean," but this is the first time we've done a dedicated blog post, and about time! "Sweet Talk" is full of sumptuously melodic cascading arps, juicy 80's esque bass and of course capped off by Jill, the lead singer's, amazing pipes. This record is blissfully pop friendly, go ahead and indulge your sweet side and sink your teeth into this one.

Throttle's also just release the vocal version of his mega James Brown fueled hit "Money Maker" featuring non other than Lunchmoney Lewis & Aston Merrygold. GRIZ - PS GFY (FT. CHERUB)

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

As if things could not get better concerning this record that's about to drop - today Detroit funk lord GRiZ gives us this one ... and I'm swooning! We've had some epic times with the Cherub boys - they've even randomly showed up to my parties and asked if they could do a DJ set. I can only imagine what it would be like having GRiZ and Cherub on the same stage -- and this new single "PS GFY" is everything you would expect from this pairing. The funk runs deep with this one ... it's going to be an epic dance party gem.

Speaking of a dance party - we're going to be with the GRiZ fam in San Francisco for the Funksgiving party at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on November 26. The lineup for this night is bananas with Lettuce, Haywire and Brasstracks - I am going to shake my bootay alllll night, you should too! Limited tickets are still available but very close to selling out - gotta swoop them ASAP!

JOYRYDE - HOT DRUM

Music, Original MixEricComment

Damn Joyryde is simply crushing release after release. "Hot Drum" is yet another example of why Joyryde's meteoric rise in the last year is fully justified. The swag, sheer amount and precision of the various samples used throughout his records add a bombastically explosive quality that just cannot be tamed. "Hot Drum" prominently features a reggae steel drum sample in the chorus that comes out of nowhere, but somehow still fits like a glove. The record manages to calm down for a short oriental sounding breakdown, before winding back up for the end. I'm super excited for his LA debut at Control Sept 23rd. Hope to see all the LA bass heads ready to rock and roll. You can see the epic video and grab the download for this track on his website here

MELVV & MOONZZ - GOODBYE

Music, Original MixEricComment

I can't believe it's already been over a year since I got to meet the yung startup Melvv in his first LA performance. Flash forward, the future is looking real bright for the teenage Milwaukee born beat maker with this incredible collab with one of our faves MOONZz. "Goodbye" is full of earworms with the "ah ah ah's" providing much of the skeleton of the tune. The chorus has quick thumping synth flashes melodically mirroring the vocals. MOONZz just crushes per usual I had the pleasure of hearing this performed at her EP release show in LA recently and trust me, you're going to want to go to a MOONZz live performance whenever you can get the chance! Check out her debut EP "Trust Cycles." Breakout tune for both artists and on the epic Majestic Casual imprint too...Get it Get it! You can stream this on Spotify here.

[PREMIERE] OLIVER NELSON FT. KALEEM TAYLOR - AIN'T A THING

PREMIERE, Music, Original MixErin Maher1 Comment

It's hard to believe this is our first Oliver Nelson premiere! Over the past few years I've become pretty close with this whole team of legends (artist and management) - we've had some laughs to be sure! The love between Oliver Nelson and myself is pretty special - when we are together it's tons of giggles, hours of talk about music and life, all the things besties do except we only see eachother a few times a year. So this next premiere is another first for me and my Swedish disco angel, and he's coming at us with all the funky dance grooves! "Ain't A Thing ft. Kaleem Taylor" is classic Oliver Nelson, clean and crisp disco house that has an infectious beat and thick soulful vocals - just try not to shake your booty! This one officially drops Sept 16 via Perfect Havoc and you can pre-order from iTunes HERE

[PREMIERE] HIGHT - SUN COME UP

Music, PREMIERE, Original MixErin MaherComment

It's all about the disco vibes this morning kids! I'm psyched to kick things off this this next premiere - the debut track from up-and-coming UK producer Hight. "Sun Come Up" is a fantastic blend of underground disco and mainstream dance elements wrapped up in a ball of funky deep house disco fun! This is the kind of track that will get you sweating on the dance floor! We love watching producers make their first moves, and Hight is coming at us with that fire! We're honored to be a part of this milestone. Listen and love!

EGZOD FT. CAITI PATTON - KEEP YOURSELF AWAY

Music, Original MixHarrison MorganComment

If it's one thing I've learned about myself over the years, it's that I'm a sucker for melodic dubstep. No matter how much time flies and how many new genres come into the picture, there's just something about it that makes me want to vibe out. EGZOD, a brand new up and comer from France, released his newest song "Keep Yourself Away" featuring Caiti Patton, and it reminds a lot of something MitiS or Adventure Club would do, with a fresh twist. While it's the first time I've heard of both artists, I can almost guarantee we'll see some more promising material moving forward.

CHRIS AVANTGARDE - ALL OF THE LIGHTS

Music, Original MixEricComment

So Insomniac, who I'm sure everyone who's reading this knows who they are, has put together a lil record label through Universal Music's Interscope imprint. Chris Avantgarde has blessed their catalogue with a cold as ice almost drum and bass record in "All Of the Lights." Cinematic, evolving, brooding, futuristic, expansive might be a few adjectives to describe the tune, but quite simply I'm going to go with EPIC. There's a lot of ear candy to enjoy in this tune from the arp melodies and string pads to the haunting vocals. It all comes together to burst into your ears with swirls of decadence. Take a second and dive into a record that I know you're going to enjoy. You can purchase and stream "All Of the Lights" on digital retailers here
