REZZ x 13 - DRUGS

Pretty sure Rezz is crushing harder than anyone right now! She's been dropping a new track every week from her forthcoming full length album Mass Manipulation out on AUG 04 via mau5trap. With her undeniable signature sound, Rezz has been giving all the boys a run for their money. This most recent track "Drugs" with fellow Canadian producer 13 mixes her dark electro and somewhat sinister techno sound with some wobbly dub flavor for what I would call .... FIRE! NVDES - DO YOU THINK ABOUT ME

I'm all about the new music NVDES has been releasing in the last few months. He was featured on a Pierce Fulton track a while back "Better Places" that eventually became the name of his new album, and is most notably known for his single "The Other Side". Most  of NVDES' music features indie rock guitar and bass reminiscent of The Strokes or Gorillaz, but of course with his own flare and a hint of electronics just to blend it all together. This tune is a groover of a record and is a perfect beach ready tune for your summer adventures. Listen over on Spotify here. 

BANDMASTER X EZERI - JUST PADDLE

Here's a cool record I came across in my perusings of the interwebs. The dreamy intro and casual piano lead to funky vocals and a lazy beat that really struck my fancy when I heard it. I'm not usually into more experimental music, but I thought this one had the right combination of funkiness and groove that starts to take a hold of you by the end. The end also just opens up and heads into a completely different direction from the opening leaving you rather breathless. I don't know much about Bandmaster or Ezeri other than that they are from Latvia and also just came out with an EP last Friday entitled "Stay Awake" that is also pretty tight so check it out!

MINDSIGHT & DUUMU - WHAT FEELS RIGHT

Monstercat is a collective of musicians and artistic pioneers that continuously blazes trails for the future of electronic music. The world renowned ensemble has proved, more than occasionally, that their "aesthetic" is undefinable. Monstercat caters to the many sub-genres under the umbrella of EDM, resulting in millions of followers and fans. Not to my surprise, Monstercat just released Mindsight and Duumu's collaborative track, "What Feels Right." The single reaches beyond what is currently popular in contemporary indie electronic music. It's wavy, syncopated, and has an almost vintage electronic energy. Despite its many layers, and intentional proliferation, the cadence is clear, ensuring that no other artist can produce something of its nature. The sultry, chrome, female vocals are chopped but, to my appreciation, not screwed. Mindsight and Duumu have just mapped out a journey through a piece that is not "all over the place," but takes you places you haven't been before. It's a geometric, 4-D track that goes against the grain of what is happening in modern music. Straight up, I love it- almost experimental, but warmly approachable. See what I mean via Soundcloud, and Spotify. 

KID FROOPY - DRIVE SLOW

Kid Froopy can do no wrong! He's hit some absolute home runs with "BB (four missed texts)" and "Dreams," and you know we were excited to hear his latest concoction - an energetic indie electronic tune "Drive Slow". The song pulses with layers of rhythmic vocal chops throughout the choruses and finale. There's also hints of funky guitar, and an infectious downward falling synth melody that floats in every now and then that serves as the whipped cream on top. This delectable tune is another fine dime in his deck of tasty jams. You can listen on Spotify as well here.

ESSEX. - WHAT YOU DO

We're starting a fresh new week, so I wanted to feature something band spanking new to kick off this lovely Monday morning with a bang! Say hello to Essex. - Las Vegas based duo who just brought the heat with new track "What You Do." Essex. presents a creative mix of synth pop vibes and future bass beats to forge a signature sound that I am loving! With ethereal melodies and soothing vocals, these guys might be your new favorite flavor of the week! Also, for the ladies .... they're definitely easy on the eyes .... babe alert! There is no better way to start off your morning than with a fresh track from our loves over at Moving Castle. This little collective + label always produces the goods, and this new track from AObeats & Annabel Jones is hitting all the right notes. With that future groove and glitchy beats sound we love from AObeats mixed with the sweet girlish vocals from Annabel Jones, we have ourselves a dance floor heater that I'm sure we'll all be hearing at the club for months to come.
