I love French indie dance pop - but when you throw Jake Gyllenhaal as a cereal killer into the mix....it's like the perfect thing! The Shoes have just released their new video for "Time To Dance" and already have over a million views on youtube....which I am sure Mr. Gyllenhaal's involvement helped.....but still it's a long video, like a little movie and totally worth watching! The song is awesome as well!!

One of my favorite performances from my SXSW showcase - Voxhaul Broadcast destroyed the patio stage, putting to shame all other bands playing in the other venues around us! People were in the streets dancing and cheering....and I was sick with a fever so I was only able to catch 1/2 their set.....but it was insane!
Being LA natives, I have watched this band come of age, and now they are just finishing up their Satellite residency this Monday, and to celebrate KCRW is offering an exclusive download of new single "Turn The Knife" - which you can GET HERE!!!

I was lucky enough this year to have Choir Of Young Believers play my SXSW showcase! I have been a huge fan for years, and even though their set got cut short, they were incredible!! Not to mention, very sweet people and it was just lovely to get to know them a bit!
Choir Of Young Believers have just released their new full length album called Rhine Gold, and it is truly a beautiful record! Jannis Noya Makrigiannis's voice is like a dream, and every time I see them live it sends chills through me...the good kind of chills!!

Night Moves put on a gret show, I had them play my SXSW showcase and it was great! They are sweet boys as well, actually saved the day for another one of the bands playing my showcase....I wish I could be there!! However - you should go Los Angeles!! 8pm!!

My biggest disappointment of my SXSW showcase is that Vacationer did not get to play their set. Timing is everything at SXSW, and Daytrotter kept the band way to long...so by the time they got to my venue to set up, it was to late. No hard feelings, we were all pretty bummed out, me and the band....
But happy day - Vacationer released their full length album yesterday titled Gone and it is already at the top of my list for favorite album of 2012! Go get yourself a copy!!

By having my own 4 day and 4 night showcase at SXSW - I really dont get to see much else except the bands that play my venue (not that I mind, all the bands that play are awesome). One band I am bummed I did not get to see this year is London outfit 2:54.
They just finished a tour with The Big Pink in the UK before SXSW. and of course are now in the states playing the west coast - last night in Los Angeles and Thursday night in San Francisco.....which I have to miss because I just cant seem to get over this nasty SXSW sickness I picked up while in Austin!
I hear great things about thier live show....next time!

Getting back into everyday life after SXSW is always a challenge, and this year it is seeming particlarly hard with this nasty SX sickness I picked up in Austin. However, my hometown boys Saint Motel have released a new single called "Honest Feedback" that is making my day a little bit brighter!

Oh SXSW - you were so good to me this year! Not only did I pull of a great showcase, dodging every road block that was put in my way, but I also got to have some of my all time favorite bands play, which in my book is pretty amazing. Enter Lovedrug on Saturday afternoon! Wow!
One thing I know about myself, no matter how many bands I work with or how many shows I produce or how many rock stars I know, I will always be a fan of great music and I will always be a geeky nerd about it! I love Lovedrug - always have and always will, and they were the greatest guys and put on one hell of a live show!

Now that I am home from another amazing, crazy, successful, and wild SXSW - it is time to get back to the Buzzz and talk about all the new music out there in the world. Every year at SXSW there is one band that plays my showcase who become fast fiends and fun time having partners in crime with me....and this year it just so happened to be one of the bands I was most excited to see.....Breton.
As I have stated before, Breton are my new favorite group of brits who are putting out some pretty awesome tunes, and now after seeing them live, I know thies guys mean business!
Breton have just released their new single "Interference" today which you can buy on UK iTunes. Full length album Other Peoples Problem expected to drop March 26!
Also, if you are in New York City, get yourself down to The Mercury Lounge tonight for Breton's first ever US headlining show! GET TICKETS HERE Really wish I could be at this one, but looks like I will have to wait a few months to see them in the west....LA style!!
