Ask me who my new favorite band is right now.....I dare you......because you are about to get schooled!! Breton are my brand new loves! From London, british and gorgeous, and so in your face and raw it hurts in all the right ways! I have been listening non-stop!!
"Breton are an inscrutable bunch of musicians and award-winning indie film-makers with, we are told, "cutting-edge video and sound design work under their belts" for the likes of Temper Trap, Penguin Prison and Tricky. They're so inscrutable they don't just live in south-east London, they have a "base" there, a former bank known as BretonLABS, where these multi-instrumentalist, multimedia types work on their music and audio-visuals, and do remixes for the likes of Local Natives, Chapel Club and Maps & Atlases. I think I may have found what my Art Vs Science @ SXSW 2011 is to what my Breton @ SXSW 2012 will be! Over the moon - they are playing BOTH my official and unofficial showcase!
New Music: Vanaprasta to release new EP - March 6

I'm sure by now, every one who actually reads my little blog knows how much I love Vanaprasta because they are just the shit! After they released their first full length album Healthy Geometry last November, me and my friends have been rockin it daily! Now it looks like this new EP called Effie House Sessions are going to be somewhat stripped down versions of tracks of the album! I also heard some very exciting information about Vanaprasta that I will have to share at a leter date, but until then you can get excited for this new EP and get over to iTunes and get yourself a copy of Healthy Geometry!!
If you are in Los Angeles, Vnanprasta will be playing @ Bootleg Bar on March 9th - it's gonna be crazy so I better see you there!

How great is it whan you can stream whole albums before they come out!! Love it....and love this band - White Rebbits!! This will be the third full length release from this awesome Brooklyn band - I am a huge huge fan and am currently on cloud 9 because I get to listen now...right now....which you should do too!!

LONDON - I wish I were roaming your streets right now, hitting the clubs and seeing bands like this one - Whales in Cubicles!! I know eventually, London, your bands will come to LA and I can see them here, but I would much rather be there - because have you seen what crowds are like in LA compared to your amazing city!! One of the best shows of my life was there, London! Thank you!
Whales in Cubicles are rock'n'roll at its best! I have heard their live shows are awesome! Really, this is like epic.....

I just listened to this song "Family" by Irish band The Cast Of Cheers about 10 times in a row, and then I danced around my office during the last listen! They accomplish everything good and fun about music in 2 minutes and 20 seconds! I must see this band live.....but it looks like they are just now only going on their first ever UK tour! They just released their first single "Family" on February 20 and there is a buzz starting, and I am just wondering how long it is going to take for them to get to the US!!! This is great Brit pop/rock by the Irish.....LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

I am just in love with Vacationer - I have been listening to the Gone EP over and over and over! It makes me think of perfect California winter days - which are like the most perfect part of summer! The Gone LP comes out March 20, 2012 on Downtown Records - and I also just booked them for my SXSW party! Stoked!!
He is also a beautiful, beautiful man.....I may girl out in Austin!

"Brothers" was the last song we finished at Brothers studio and the last song I wrote lyrics for there. Brothers was the studio that my brother Josh and I built after he stopped producing Trance music. We built it as a place to record our own music together, and eventually started working on our friends' projects there. It's also where I started Tanlines with Jesse. Josh stored all of his old Trance records in the studio, and in the song there's a line about the 1000's of records we had at the studio that Josh didn't know what to do with when we had to move out. On literally the very last day we had to be out of the building, he finally packed and moved them. This is the first Joshua Ryan produced track or remix that he's done in almost 10 years and we're very happy to share it with you guys here. -Eric
