NEW VIDEO: PAPA - AIN'T IT SO

[Your Name Here]Comment

PAPA has a new video out today!!  I love this band - they come from Los Angeles and this year have rocked into the heart of the "east side" scene - packing the smaller clubs and supporting the likes of The Temper Trap!  I was lucky enough to have them play my SXSW showcase this year....so effing good!!

"Ain't It So" is a great song - it could have been written by Ringo Starr and arranged by Harry Nilsson, top it off with a twist of hipster flaver and wallah.....you have greatness!  Pink suit....it's the best part of the video!!

NEW VIDEO: MIDI MATILDA - LOVE & THE MOVIES

And it's another Monday full of new awesome music that you can dance your butt off to!  I mean.......just start things off with this new song and video from the bay area's newest synth sensation Midi Matilda called "Love & The Movies".

There is so much amazing music coming out of San Francisco that never gets out of the bay....so it's about time we had a break-out band that can lead the way for the rest!!  Is Midi Matilda that band.....maybe.....along with Wallpaper, The Limousines and Geographer it looks like there is loads of synth pop dance goodness just bursting in northern Cali!

But for real, this song just wants to make you dance and feel happy - which now I do and so will you!

NEW VIDEO: ALT-J - TESSELLATE

[Your Name Here]Comment

Alt-J has just released a new video for single "Tessellate".  Directed by Alex Southam, the video is a twist on Italian Renaissance painter Raphael's "The School of Athens," seen through a modern day lens that Raphael may not have had in mind.  "Tessellate" will appear on alt-J's debut album, An Awesome Wave, to be released September 18th via Canvasback.

Looks like there are some US dates coming up, I can't wait to check out a live show!

08/01 - Los Angeles, CA - The Echo

08/02 - San Francisco, CA - Popscene @ Rickshaw Stop

08/05 - Chicago, IL - The Empty Bottle

08/06 - New York, NY - Mercury Lounge

08/07 - Brooklyn, NY - Glasslands

If you have not heard Poolside yet - you are behind!  They come from Los Angeles and they are taking over - live shows are great, DJ's love'em, top song on KCRW - and they are doing it all DIY - no label, no joke!  Here is an awesome remix they did of "In The Grace Of Your Love" by The Rapture!

Poolside have their debut album called Pacific Standard Time coming out on July 9th - so get on that!

Happy 4th of July America!!  As I begin to celebrate the independence of the country I was born, I have decided that today is going to be an all remix day - because remixes are rad!

Here is a fun little group from San Francisco - Midi Matilda with a remix of their single "Day Dreams".  This band has been causing quite a comotion in the industry - everybody wants a piece, and rightly so....they are great.

A friend of mine was playing this remix last night and it has stuck with me, so please enjoy while you BBQ and day drink yourself silly America!!

UPCOMING SHOW: ANDY CLOCKWISE @ CENTRAL SAPC - LOS ANGELES - 07.06.12

Andy Clockwise is no doubt hands down one of the most entertaining live shows I have ever seen.  Every time this guy takes the satge he absolutely murders it - maybe it's the Australian charm or the crazy antics he displays - whatever it is, mix it with awesome rock songs and a solid band....you just can't go wrong!

Clockwise is a Los Angeles transplant from Sydney, and we are glad to have him!  His next show will be on the west side at Central SAPC - Friday July 6, 2012.  Doors are at 8pm, it's only 8 bucks, and this is a 21+ event.  You can get all the info about this show HERE!

In the meantime, check out new single from Andy Clockwise called "Steam Dream" which is the first single from upcoming album War Stories.

NEW MUSIC: BRETON - JOSTLE (SINGLE)

Happy Monday!!  Finally it is July - the middle of summer and my birth month!  In just a few weeks I will be another year older and much wiser than the year before.  Looking back on this last year I can say I know what has been my most favorite event over everything....and that would be meeting and working with Breton!

Not only is this band one of the best bands I had the pleasure of seeing in 2012 - they are also some of the greatest guys - beautiful people inside and out - and now people I consider family!  The time I have spent working with these cheeky brits has ben so fun I somethimes forget it's work.  I miss them so....right now they are running around Europe playing festivals.  If you missed them on their first US tour in May, have no fear they will be back in the states in September!

Today they release a new single called "Jostle" (off of their debut full length album released in April called Other People's Problems) with B side "Foam" - and this is a UK only release so sorry US you'll have to wait.  This is a great song, go buy it, support Breton because they are totally worth it!
