NEW MUSIC: HARTS - ALL TOO REAL

More new music from down under - it's like it never stops!!  Another first timer as well!  Please welcome Harts and his new single called "All Too Real" off his debut Offtime EP out sometime soon in 2012!  He is delicious!!  Mouth kissing delicious!!  His style of electro pop soul makes you want to get up and dance - and the hipsters will LOVE him!

This guy writes all the songs and plays all instruments in his bedroom studio - kinda like Prince...not that I can actually compair the two musically because...well....Prince is untouchable, but still I digress!  Another Melbourne native, Harts will be bringing that funky soul feeling to white boy world in the months to follow and I think it's just delightful!

Long live indie pop!!

NEW MUSIC: ALPINE - GASOLINE

Australia is really providing us with some great new music today!  Moving on to Melbourne, I hear that this new album from Alpine is one of Australia's most anticipated for the year!  I think that is well deserved.  They have just released new single "Gasoline" and it's a bright pop gem that you just can't help to love.

I booked Alpine at my SXSW 2012 showcase, but unfortunately they were not able to play due to total exhaustion form one of the beautiful ladies....which if you have ever been to SXSW you woud totally understand....in fact I fell out this year too, by Saturday night I could no longer go on, had to leave my own showcase and pass out in the van. However, the members of Alpine were wonderfully amazing people and I wish them all the best...and I can't wait to see them again!

NEW MUSIC: ARGENTINA - CHALK OUTLINES

Let's get out of Sydney for now and head over to Brisbane to check out Argentina - a solo project of Alex Ritchie, a Brisbane based producer and songwriter.  I came across this song "Chalk Outlines" which was released in March and thought it was great!  This is the first official single from Argentina, and from the sound of it there will be more great things to come.

NEW VIDEO: THE PRESETS - YOUTH IN TROUBLE

I am feeling a bit of an Australian theme today, and why the hell not, fucking great music comes out of Australia!  The Presets are back to fuck us up with new tunes! 

This is the first taste of new music from Sydney based group in over 4 years.  Woah!!  This track "Youth In Trouble" is a never-ending, undulating slice of face-melting techno!  New album Pacifica will be out in September, and there will be a North American tour to boot!!

NEW MUSIC: DAPPLED CITIES - BORN AT THE RIGHT TIME

Woo Hoo!! New Dappled Cities single "Born At The Right Time" is just what I needed this morning!  I love this band - and I believe this new record - which comes out on August 3 - is going to be AWESOME!

So much amazing music comes out of Australia, but for me Dappled Cities is one of those bands that stand out front - and this Syndey based group are creating a signature sound all their own.  I missed them the last time they were in the states, but I am sure we will see them come around again next year to support this new record....I can't wait!!

NEW MUSIC: WILDCAT! WILDCAT! - THE CHIEF

Good morning music lovers!  Today I start off with some hometown love from Los Angeles.  Wildcat! Wildcat! are becoming the new cool band in my beautiful city, and I have to say I am pretty stoked on them!

Great things are happening with them as well, looks like they have been picked up by Windish Agency - which means they are going to be playing all the best festivals and shows in the next 12 months, and they will have their first LA Monday night residency at The Echo in August!  It is going to be a ton of fun watching this band come up!

LISTENING & LOVING: ASTRO

The lesson I learned today is that when your mother asks you to take a trip out to the end of the world in NorCal to pick up some reupholstered cushions - you do it....because you may come across an obscure radio station playing Latin Alternative Music....and you may hear a new really great band you never heard before!!  That is exactly what heppened to me today....and I found Astro!

I came home and tried to find out as much as I could about this electro synth-pop group from Santagio, Chile - and what I caan tell you is that I can't find a facebook page!  Really?  No...not really but that took a long time to find it HERE but I did....however it's in Spanish so I will have to freshen up on my Espanol!

Looks like Astro had an album come out in 2011 and were SXSW 2012 showcasing artists.  You can listen to the album on their SOUNDCLOUD PAGE and I have provided a song and video below!  Love this band and love finding new music - I hope they come back to the states soon!

TONIGHT IN LA: ICONA POP @ BARDOT

I know there is a ton of really cool things going on in Los Angeles tonight - and if I was in town I have to say I would most likely be going to see Icona Pop @ School Night @ Bardot.  This Swedish electro pop group kicks so much ass and I would love to see them live....super bummed I will have to miss them!  It's a free show and I bet it is going to be a ton of fun so get out there on your Monday night peeps!!
