NEW MUSIC: EARLIMART - 97 HEART ATTACK

I remember the first time I saw Earlimart live - they opened for Elbow at the Avalon in Hollywood in April of 06, and I had no idea who they were, but I knew I LOVED them!  I was just settling into my new Hollywood apartment - I had been living in Prague, Czech Republic for a while going to school and seeing the world - and coming back to SoCal and deciding Los Angeles was my new home, I was hitting the music scene pretty hard - just starting to break the surface of what was going on in this beautiful city.     ​

So I had never heard of Earlimart - and at the time they were (and still are) one of LA's top buzz bands, and I learned soon enough ​why......because they are amazing!  It has been four years since we have heard a peep from Earlimart, so it brings me so much joy to see a new single and plans for a new album!  "97 Heart Attack" is the first single from upcoming release System Preferences coming out digitally September 18, and then on CD and Vinyl on October 16 via The Ship.

NEW MUSIC: HOORAY FOR EARTH - NEVER

Exciting!  Hooray for Earth has new music out!  It has been a while since we have heard from this New York band, more than a year in fact.  2011 was an amazing year for them with a ton of touring, album release, and they made my top 5 favorite new band list!  New single "Never" will be released August 21 via Dovecote Records, and I hope to see a new record sometime in the near future!  ​

NEW VIDEO: MY MORNING JACKET - OUTTA MY SYSTEM

​After falling through a hole into a psychedelic, animated, one-eyed dimension in space, My Morning Jacket share their new video for “Outta My System” featuring Zach Galifanakis as the wizard. 

My Morning Jacket are also set to release The Outta My System EP tomorrow, August 7th, featuring remixes by Washed Out and Dave Sitek from TV on the Radio. The EP also includes fan favorite “Friends Again” from their limited edition 7” released in December.

NEW VIDEO: SAINT MOTEL - 1997

Saint Motel released their new video for "1997" today - premiered on MTVu - which is amazing!  They are currently on tour in the US, and I hear they have been ripping up every stage they set foot on.  I like Saint Motel videos because they never take themselves to seriously which makes for a much more entertaining video in my opinion.  Many of the bands videos, like this one, are directed by front man A/J Jackson.  Love it!

NEW MUSIC: DJANGO DJANGO - DJANGO DJANGO (ALBUM STREAM)

Scottish four-piece Django Django is releasing their self-titled album on September 25th via Ribbon Music, with an exclusive iTunes release next Tuesday, August 14th. To reward everyone's patience in the months of planning the stateside release, as of today, you can stream their excellent debut album in its entirety via NPR Music's "First Listen" series! This follows a slew of early support from NPR - they premiered the "Hail Bop" video and featured "Default" in last week's "All Songs Considered." After playing select shows in New York and Austin during SXSW in March, Django Django return to the U.S. surrounding the release of the new album.
