NEW MUSIC: ALT-J - BUFFALO (FEAT. MOUNTAIN MAN)
CommentThe one band that completely blew my mind this year is Alt-J. There is a ton of hype happening with them right now, and I am praying commercial radio does not get their grubby money sucking dream killing dirty full of poop hands on this band and pull a Gotye ..... meaning ruin anything cool and original by playing it so much that people can no longer stand to hear it. I do believe, however, that the hype is well deserved ...... Alt-J is amazing! They are the kind of band you wait a lifetime for - they are the reason I sit through hundreds of bands to find something like them - they are the reason I love music!
Their new song "Buffalo" is a new track we just unveiled as part of the soundtrack for Silver Linings Playbook, David O. Russell's new film. It's brilliant!! Their debut record "An Awesome Wave" is out now - not getting this record is the worst mistake you could ever make!

This is what Aussie rockers Bleeding Knees Club would like to convey in their new video for song "Let It Go." These baby-faced boys can seriously rock - they played my SXSWS showcase last year and were so fun to watch! "Let It Go" is a slower jam, but still retains that edgy powerful guitar and in your face punk vocals that make Bleeding Knees Club so charming! We all have had that one epic night where the next morning....... you want to die! That's what this video is about!

They have created a surreal world that is almost like a bad dream where super messed up stuff happens, and you wake up feeling weird! Comprising producer Rafael Fauria, singer-songwriter Honey Owens and dancer Ryan Boyle, their style draws from an expansive palette including early New York & Chicago house, Detroit techno, and psychedelic pop.

CommentWhat happens when you take Santah frontman Stanton McConnell and add San Francisco's longest happy hour with $3 pints, facts about whales, Phish tour stories, a Loving Cup, guest list privileges, west coast bands, a dance floor, and me? One hell of a good time! When my friend from Chicago based indie rock band Santah let me know he was going to be in my city for a few days, I knew we would have ourselves an epic night, and that we did! So it's very fitting that their new single "I Love The Way You Seal A Deal" was premiered on Rolling Stone earlier this week and that I am now talking about it.
Inspired by the disorientation in his own love life, McConnell penned Santah's newest single, "I Love the Way You Seal A Deal" to play out a fantasy of fiercely committing to 'the good, the bad, and perhaps even more disillusionment' that was ahead. This is the latest track off of recently released You're Still A Lover EP. Full of soaring choruses, lush arrangements and their patented sincere lyricism, that has PASTE noting, "You're Still A Lover molds into a dreamlike stream of consciousness proclaiming hopes for love and happiness."
