CommentTalk about two worlds colliding - holy crap! The irony of Prince Vince remixing Vanaprasta is crazy! Vanaprasta are my boys from LA, great friends and one of my favorite Los Angeles indie rock bands - I love them most! And Prince Vince....well....10 years ago we used to hang out together at hippie shows in St. Louis, MO, I met him through my cousin and I even puked on his arm once at a show from too much Smirnoff Ice - but he wasn't mad! Oh to be young again.......
Turns out Prince Vince has been alive and well, living in LA right under my nose and I am just now finding out about it - after I move to San Francisco! Go figure! So, you wanna dance your ass of just download this Prince Vince remix of "Supernumerary" by Vanaprasta and shake it! And.....stay away from the Smirnoff Ice!

CommentKnow what I am most excited for next month? Yep, you guessed it.....the new Lovelife EP! The Fourth Floor will be released on 12/17, but you can stream it here now and know it for all it's magnificent glory! I pre-ordered the vinyl HERE because I'm pretty sure this is my favorite new band from 2012!
I normally don't nerd out this hard over bands - there have been a few times where I turned super nerd: meeting Art Vs Science for the first time at my 2011 SXSW showcase, that was exciting - or that one time with Andrew VanWyngarden I strangely nerded which caught me by surprise - David Bowie, yea I forgot how to talk that time..... I digress! I am nerding out over Lovelife !!
This new EP - in my opinion - contains the best material from Lovelife
thus far. I love everything they do, but it just keeps getting better
and better. The lead off track "Heaven" is a song written about
frontman Lee Newell's old band Viva Brother, and it's indie pop
perfection with fuzzy synths and a catchy hook where the lyrics describe
almost having it all, loosing it before it even starts, and moving on -
something we can all relate with. The third track "Your New Beloved"
is my favorite with pulsing beats and harmonic vocals, it's super sexy!
I have nothing bad to say besides this - you're stupid to not love Lovelife!
NEW MUSIC: SHOUT OUT LOUDS - BLUE ICE
CommentHere they come again - those crazy Swedes Shout Out Louds! I must have listened to Our Ill Wills (2007) - the second release from this Stockholm based indie rock band one million times! Every time I have seen them live it has been amazing as well! I am ready for this new fourth coming record, no release date yet - but today we get our first taste with single "Blue Ice"

CommentBrand spanking new band - my favorite kind! The latest indie pop outfit out of Brooklyn viz Germany is HAERTS! Their new single "Wings" is anything but amateur! Led by frontwoman Nini Fabi, HAERTS exhibits a sound that meets at the intersection between Americana and Indie-Pop. This track was produced by St. Lucia and made the PR circuit last month so I am a wee bit behind, but at least I got you there!
