This week marks the release of Oak Island, the sophomore album by Nightlands, aka Philadelphia-based Dave Hartley. Ten-songs about sadness and love, Oak Island is
an album that stands on its own, shying away from obvious referential
treatment. Throughout, distorted, silver-voiced melodies wrapped in the
warm sounds of 70s AM gold combine to conjure those feelings that tide

Comment2013 is looking so promising for new music. This band from London called Duologue is pretty much my latest obsession! A friend introduced me to them when talking about bands going to SXSW - she said I had to listen because I would love them, and she was more than right! Over the holidays I must have played this single "Push It" one million times! It is breathtaking! So is this new video, the tension and emotion the music and film create together really got under my skin - so thanks Duologue for creating something I can feel!
"Push It" was released yesterday in the UK - and if you are on that side of the pond you can pick this amazing single up on iTunes HERE - the rest of us have to wait to buy, but at least we can now watch!

CommentRecently I have begun to fall in love with Darwin Deez. His song writing is magical! Pretty sure he is on the top of my list of bands to see at SXSW in Austin this year, however he will be here in San Francisco at Bottom of the Hill on March 7! Rad!
“Free” is but the first, scintillating, teaser from Darwin’s forthcoming sophomore album Songs For Imaginative People, which is to be released February 11 on Lucky Number.
The record sees Darwin pushing his idiosyncratic pop talents to
heretofore-unexplored territory, with the result being his most
sonically ambitious and deliriously melodic album yet.
East London’s Billy turns it out like Darwin’s been hangin’ at the after-party in cahoots with both Solange Knowles and LCD Soundsystem - whilst managing to bring out the intimate narrative of "Free". It's beautiful.

CommentDon't know about you guys, but I have been waiting a minute for this one! We have a new single from Austin, TX band Snowden called "Keep Quiet" and it's so dreamy! This band is so amazing! Included with this single release are "Keep Quiet" (Niva Remix) and "Keep Quiet" (Savile Remix). Snowden has a new full length album coming out this year via Serpents & Snakes so keep your ears open!

This San Francisco DJ/Producer comes from that new group of electro summertime tropical jams and daytime disco beats that we are seeing come out of the west cost (for the most part) - and what a group it is with the likes of Gooldroom and Poolside and St. Lucia! You should see their twitter and instagram feeds - they are always talking to each other and it's some pretty funny shit from time to time! Viceroy is all about summer time all the time, and his music seems to make the sun shine brighter! Love!

CommentHello Monday! Here we go, another week of just trying to get to the weekend! The UK is invading my headphones today! London indie pop brilliance - Bastille has released a video for recent single "Pompeii" and again, another video filmed in downtown Los Angeles on the street I used to live....I love seeing it, makes me miss LA. Front man Dan Smith has such a beautiful voice - it reminds me of a cross between Roman Rappak from Breton & Hugo Manuel from Chad Valley.
Bastille drops their debut album Bad Blood on March 4 - and you can pre-order that bad boy HERE! Before that they are releasing a Pompeii Remix EP which you can pre-order HERE! Love Love Love!!
