CommentThe end of march is a busy time in the bay area! We are lucky enough to get a bunch of bands from SXSW coming west, which means we here at Beautiful Buzzz will actually get to catch some of the artists that did not play our showcase in Austin this year - like Australian electro genus and producer Flume.
I have been waiting for months to catch a live show from Flume - this 21 year old is destroying venues all over the world right now, gaining more recognition for his debut record released last year in Australia where it has gone platinum, and recently released in the US - this kid is no joke! His music is super sexy, dripping with R&B vibes along with insane dance floor beats. Next week Flume will be playing Popscene @ Rickshaw Stop on Thursday March 28. This show is sold out - but get there early enough, there are usually some tickets at the door!
NEW MUSIC: SWIM DEEP - SHE CHANGES THE WEATHER
CommentSwim Deep have released another new single from their upcoming debut release "Where The Heaven Are We" and I am really looking forward to this one kids! I had them booked on my SXSW showcase, but things did not work out with their schedule and they had to drop - so I am left still waiting to see a live show. This is fuzzy dreamy guitar pop at its best, get into it!

Both these bands were in Austin last week - and Little Daylight played our party on our last day - Saturday - and they were amazing!! Australian dance pop is my most favorite kind of dance pop, and you guys do it real real good! People tell me that my knowledge of amazing Australian bands is superb, and it's because of bands like you that I look really really cool in the eyes of my peers! When I am at dance parties or spinning at after hours parties, I blow people away when I put on your amazing 2008 single "Relativity" - like I am a dance party master, but in reality it's all you!
Your new single, Grafton Primary, "One More Life" is delicious, and I am very happy I can continue to look cool because I will be talking about you and playing your new music! When I was introduced to this Detroit based band Jamaican Queens, I thought....what the fuck! This is brilliant!! It takes a certain kind of music lover to get into a band of this nature.... the most brilliant music lovers ever, I mean you have to be hella smart about music, and somewhat of a taste maker - because this is by far some of the coolest shit I have herd in a minute! Forget what you know, this is not structured dance pop that we so dearly love - this is trap pop! I mean.....do you even know what trap pop is?? This stretches the limits of ultimate coolness, so if you are not cool you most likely can not grasp the awesomeness of this band. Jamaican Queens are reserved for the ultra hip, and that's the way I like it! Without bands like this, all the top 40 hit makers would have nothing to inspire them!
Jamaican Queens have just dropped their debut full length record called Wormfood today - which you can stream above. Yes, it's really really fucking good!! You can pick up a copy of this brilliant record RIGHT HERE - do it.....because you are that cool! I totally did!!
