BEAUTIFUL BUZZZ

GAZZO - GOOD OL' BOYS (FT. AMERICAN AUTHORS)

Lindsey OhComment

It is October and it is snowing…yes snowing today in Colorado. So while snow is peacefully falling outside my window and the world starts to slow, I find myself keeping warm with some hot coffee and reminiscing with the guys of Gazzo and American Authors. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the artists, they have collaborated before on their four-times platinum hit single “Best Day Of My Life” which achieved enormous success with over 40 million Spotify streams, and continue to steal listeners hearts release after release. However, today we are here to talk about their latest single “Good Ol’ Boys”, which was premiered by Billboard and released by Enhanced Music & Island Records. "Good Ol' Boys" is an uplifting and heartwarming track, that will leave you with a smile and a couple of memories that you might not have thought of in a while.  With smooth guitar riffs, playful percussion, and of course the amazing vocal from none other than American Authors, you would think that there is nothing that could make this track better…but there is. Not only did the guys knock out this tune but they created an amazing music video and as tribute to friendship, the record’s artwork features actual photos of Gazzo, American Authors, and their friends growing up. Bet you wish you had friends like these.

SJ - REFLECTION (FEAT. ANNA PANCALDI)

Music, Original MixEricComment

Tritonal's label Enhanced has just given us their latest offering - a song first deep house tune "Reflection" from new producer Sj that really struck my fancy. The tune features Anna Pancaldi's lovely vocals encased with silk like layers of swirling synth work that cast a warm aura around the first verse. "Without Your Love, I have no reflection" she sings in the vocal chorus entreats us into a chill deep house drop that goes down oh so smooth. Apart from music, Sj has a cool story because he started an organization dually based in Nashville and Calcutta, India called One Life, which helps transform places of poverty in Indian slums to places of possibility. Among other projects, One Life has created a safe space called “Our Dream Home” which is home to 25 girls who broke free from poverty and physical/sexual abuse situations, and acts as a resource for them to live comfortably with long term care and development. I'm especially down to support artists that are equally willing to give back to others not only with their art but also their time and energy.

MAESU~ - OG

MusicLindsey OhComment

Ah, what a wonderful week it has been here in Colorado. The air is starting to cool and the once green landscape is now slowly turning into bright yellows, reds, and oranges, to announce that fall is indeed here.  Which leaves us with the perfect time to dig into some new music for the season. Building upon his successful releases “Left You” and “Aquimini”, Maesu is back with his smooth 7 track debut deSerVe EP. After taking some time to go through all of it, I was rather impressed with the body of work, but caught myself playing one track on repeat. “OG” comes as the third track on the EP and man oh man is it good. It features a minimalistic beat with sultry percussion which perfectly compliments Maesu’s voice and allows it to float perfectly atop. With such a exceptional sound and unique style, the future is looking bright for this promising artist.

BUZZZMIX VOL. 43 - JULIUS JETSON

Buzzzmix Mixtape, Music, Original Mix, RemixErin MaherComment

It’s been a little over a year since Julius Jetson released his last mix, and a lot has happened in that time. He started a record label back in June called Ghetto Ghetto, and he's been slowly building up a catalog of darker house tracks that they plan to release over the next year. Since he's hitting the road over the next couple months, he wanted to make a mix to showcase all the cool music he's signed to the label as well as some of his own unreleased tracks. This one is super fun!!

LOUIS THE CHILD - RIGHT TO IT (FT. ASHE)

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Yesterday was a rough one ..... and I'm not sure I feel much better today. For those of us who work in the live music industry, the Las Vegas mass killing cuts us in a different way. I wont get too political here because it's early and I've not had my first cup of coffee, but this gun death epidemic is real, and I hope we can make some positive changes soon. On the brighter side of things, my bb boys Louis The Child dropped a new one that's definitely an end of summer anthem. With that easy going Louis The Child vibe mixed with groovy future feels and bouncy Caribbean melodies, "Right To It ft. Ashe" is everything I need. I can't wait to see my sweet boys again on their upcoming Last To Leave Tour - you can check dates HERE!

PAPA YA - OOM ZIGGA (FEAT. MALCOLM ANTHONY)

Music, Original MixEricComment

Our favorite sunny duo Papa Ya is back with a new original that's an absolute trip! The boys have constructed a fun, definitely pop leaning record "Oom Zigga" that's pretty much onomatopoeia-land. To be honest when I first heard it I was a little taken aback with the in-your-face unapologetic and borderline cheesy tribal nature of the tune, but upon second listen I couldn't help but smile and laugh. Look if you take music too seriously then this might not be the record for you, but if you know the guys (Alex and Nate), and their previous releases then you can fully appreciate how silly and perfect this song is. First of all they're called Papa Ya which I think inherently implies a little jungle-istic nature to it, and the guys are simply hamming it up. The production is really well done, and the verses from Malcolm Anthony add a cool factor fully legitimizing the tune. Have a laugh, drink a piña colada and turn up the Papa Ya!

THUTMOSE - BLAME

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

LA-based artist management group, TH3RD BRAIN houses relations for artists like ZHU, Krewella, and Gallant- noteworthy acts to say the least. But, the collective brakes for musicians who are still on the come up as well. TH3RD BRAIN's latest addition is Thutmose, the Nigerian-born, NYC-living hustler who is blazing trails for the entire community of not only hip-hop, but the world of art entirely. His latest track, "Blame" is a bump that is platinum-worthy- capitalizing on a mainstream, hip-hop cadence while remaining novel and distinct. Combining production fit for the world of dance music, and seductive, rhythmic rhymes, "Blame" chews you up and spits you out, fiercely. His presence is dominating, and certain. The world of rap goes to the beat of its own drum, as high-profile rappers are redefining it's aesthetic and sound every moment, of every day. But leaving a legacy in that community is challenging. Thutmose, on the other hand, is humbly taking the throne as one of the best young rappers in the game right now. He uses bold production, and delivers lines clearly, and consciously. "Blame" is only a stepping stone in what will be a long career for the rapper- watch this space.
