While 2017 was a complete and collective disaster, the new year is full of promise and hope. 2018 is making strong women stronger, revolutions are in bloom, and the world of music is looking towards a new horizon. Although 2017 was saturated with heartbreak, it was a prominent year for artists of all trades. It was late 2017 when I first discovered the "September born music producer from NYC," Aire Atlantica. In the midst of a wide-spread American meltdown, I found peace almost exclusively through music, and my serendipitous discovery of Aire Atlantica played a key role in keeping me sane. His taste is distinct, yet strays from the stagnant. His latest release, "On My Own" featuring Park City's female vocalist Emily Terran is a vibrant, indie-electronic piece blending bouncy production punctuated by an R&B-esque cadence. Aire Atlantica's signature production shines and lays the groundwork for Terran's voice to glow. "On My Own" is a bubbly track yet yields moments of sharp intensity, showcasing AA's diverse dexterity. Terran's deeply feminine voice is not necessarily enticing, rather, a demanding force. The duo's musical aesthetic bleeds authenticity in "On My Own" as they blend genres and continue solidifying their come up with a finely tuned synchronicity.

DANA AND THE WOLF - HIM
MusicCommentI'm excited to share this one for you this weekend. You could say it isn't our usual BB fare. "We are not a Christian Rock Band," epic dark pop duo Dana and the Wolf cry on their social media. After releasing clips of the overly-charismatic 1950's preacher Billy Graham juxtaposed with the dark instrumental from their new song, "Him," the LA based duo apparently received several DM's asking if they'd turned religious.
But a close listen to their new song reveals that vocalist Dana Hobson and producer Daniel Wolf are anything but religious. "I gave it a go / gave it a roll / you don't approve of what I'm gonna do / be someone new," sings Hobson in an Amy Winehouse torching-manner. Is she singing to a man, or the ultimate "Him" up above?
"Him" the track is an exciting and refreshing take on modern pop music, with elements of theater, hip hop, future bass, trap, it's a cinematic banger soundtracking this couple's life. There's word that more releases are in the pipeline very soon from DATW. I'm excited to say the least.
SAID THE SKY & FRND - FADED
MusicCommentThese guys are literally two of my favorite new acts out there right now, so when I heard they were releasing a collaboration I was excited to say the least. “Faded” comes to us from producer/artists Said The Sky and FRND, the former having risen to prominence for his lush emotional future electronic compositions such as “Rush Over Me” feat. HALIENE (with Illenium and Seven Lions) and the latter for his sugary alternative/electronic pop bops such as “Substitute” and “Be Happy”. Both artists are unique and recognizable in their own rights, and both make you feel something with their music. This collaboration is no exception. A release via MrSuicideSheep’s Seeking Blue label in partnership with Crooked Paintings, “Faded” features the best characteristics of both collaborators. FRND’s neo-alternative songwriting, vocals and signature choppy/modulated sound design are complemented by Said The Sky’s gorgeously melodic, orchestral, future bass style. I’ll be blasting this one all winter long as I drive around sunny LA with the windows down and the sunroof open.
ENSCHWAY - OVER U (FEAT. YEAH BOY)
Music, Original MixCommentAustralian-born Nic Schweighoffer, otherwise known as Enschway just teamed up with Yeah Boy to drop "Over U," an electronic-pop banger with radiating production, and sonorous drops. "Over U" is like pop-art meets production- striking and bold. The intro follows the cadence of contemporary indie-dance music, but then dives deep with the first drop- showcasing layers of static, wavy resonance. "Over U" is a social single- a track to bump at the beach with the homies, or on long road trips feeling the wind in your fingers.
ARTY - SUPPOSED TO BE
Music, Original MixCommentRussian producer, ARTY is no stranger to success. The Anjunabeats artist has collaborated with Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, and Matt Zo. Mostly known for a knack for trance and progressive house, ARTY just unveiled a much lighter side of his musical aesthetic. His latest track, "Supposed To Be" is a tropical, feel-good pop with colorful drops, and approachable rhythm. This isn't the ARTY we're used to, but with "Supposed To Be" we see him expand his artistic depth and fluidity- moving, swiftly, with the inevitable changes occurring in modern music and art today.
KILL THEM WITH COLOUR - DIAMONDS FEAT. DAVID SPEKTER
Music, Original MixCommentToronto-based producer, Kill Them With Colour (not colOr), just unveiled his collaborative single, "Diamonds." The track, which features singer, songwriter David Spekter is a well-put-together electro-pop soundscape with intentional layers, and signature drops. The track is wavy, and riveting- bursting with vibrancy and character. The production oscillates around the vocals, stopping, and returning in perfect time to emphasize certain lines and vocal chords. Kill Them With Color is bold in this release, capitalizing on already popular rhythms while adding his own, distinct film to it. Bright, and brilliant- it's definitely a track that will spread far, and wide.
SWEATER BEATS - GLORY DAYS (SPIRIX REMIX)
Music, RemixCommentSometimes I listen to something, and it’s so good on the first listen I just feel compelled to share it with more people. I think that’s the real reason why music bloggers choose to write about music. As much as I love writing, I wouldn’t post a song publicly if I didn’t think that other people would enjoy it as much as me.
This remix is one of those tracks that was so good that I knew after the first drop that I had to share it with the BB fam. Don't wanna jinx it but this could go #1 on HypeM easily, knock on wood. I’ve heard the original which is incredible, as most things from LA’s favorite homies Sweaters and Kiyoko usually are, and I’ve seen the name Spirix floating around the interwebs, so I could say I sort of knew what to expect from this song. Little did I know what I was in for. Spirix has taken “Glory Days” and turned it from an exciting electropop song into an electrifying supercharged magnum opus. The flawless production chops demonstrated in this remix of an already melodically impressive and hook-laden song just make you want to listen on repeat. If you weren’t already watching Spirix, this remix is reason enough to start.

[PREMIERE] WHETHAN VS OLIVER TREE - WHEN I'M DOWN (BRONZE WHALE)
Music, RemixCommentYes. Once more, "The Live Music Capital of The World," Austin, Texas has brought to fruition another illustrious musician. A duo actually, Bronze Whale, composed of Benny and Jaques who make "sexy whale sounds" that have continuously dominated the electronic music scene in ATX, just dropped a saucy remix for Whethan and Oliver Tree's, "When I'm Down." The original track is a stand alone classic, but the holy hands of Bronze Whale have cast upon it new dimensions. The flip possesses a pop-step energy, with a kind hint of bubbly on the nose. Yet, it still has this sharp, demanding tone that drives it up and down, you know, so you can shuffle. There is a pronounced emphasis on the intricacy of the production, it's never quite simple- but always an affable listen. Bronze Whale is recognized for their consistent delivery of big room sounds that pull on the heart strings. But, with this remix they give us a party. With this remix, they share with us the testimony of layered complexity in production. Although Bronze Whale is a fraction of a massive, often restrictive music scene in Austin, the two musicians are expanding their reach at a rapid pace, crashing into the scene without a parachute. And we are all here for it. Get familiar with what's about to get big by streaming, sharing, and gettin' down with their spunky, brilliantly unorthodox remix. My feet are moving, y'all.

MAZDE - FADING OUT (FEAT. RROMARIN) // BUZZMIX OUT 7/26
MusicCommentIf you don’t know Mazde by now, you’re seriously missing out. The German producer first garnered serious attention when his remix of Disclosure’s “Help Me Lose My Mind” premiered via YouTube music curator MrSuicideSheep and consequently blew up to over 38 million views. Since then he’s released a handful of future bass originals and remixes (including the most popular official remix of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s “Say A Prayer For Me”) which have all helped develop the Mazde sound — evocative, chill, rich electronic production that incorporates elements of future bass, pop, deep house, trap, and hip hop. He’s also proven an incredible collaborator having released a whole EP with the amazing LissA and the hip hop future bass crossover Neverland with NY rapper Khary.
We’re proud to announce today that Mazde will be sharing an exclusive Buzzzmix coming out right here on Beautiful Buzzz next Wednesday July 26th. In anticipation of his mix, we’d love to share his latest original—"Fading Out" is a warm summery future pop number full of his signature lush electronic sounds complemented by Rromarin’s lovely, velvety, emotional vocals.
