YE. X FAR & FEW - IWANTUU

Syracuse-bred Ye. and Austin-based electronic duo Far & Few join forces for their energy-infused new single, “iwantuu.” Blending the sounds of their hometowns- Austin’s pumping bass and New York’s deep melodies, the three concoct a piece that oozes with musical vitality. The single summons listeners, commanding their undivided attention from start to finish through echoing vocal chops, oriental-styled synths, intermingling harmonies, and of course, a compelling rhythm. It’s nearly impossible to deny the chemistry among these producers as you’ll find yourselves absolutely vulnerable to the hooking sound of “iwantuu.”

Lightning in a Bottle is a festival characterized by an eclectic mix of music, art, and culture created by The DoLab with an incredibly vast amount of fun, creative, and unique experiences for all ages. Located at Lake San Antonio’s North Shore in Bradley, CA Lightning in a Bottle is set to return for their eighth year May 23 - 28th. With musical names such as Anderson Paak & The Free Nationals, Zhu, Griz, The Glitch Mob, Sofi Tukker, The Beats Antique and Walker and Royce, to name a few, Lightning in a Bottle 2018 is set to be an unmissable party. In addition to the main stages’ music, there is a plethora of immersive and interactive attractions for all ages at the festival. These activities range from workshops and discussions, to live art and classes, to food and drinks, to yoga and meditation, which make the festival unlike any other. If you’re looking for something to do at LIB it won’t be hard to find. We’ve compiled a list of 26 experiences that can be found this year at Lightning in a Bottle below.

• Over 40 artists have been invited by LIB to transform blank canvases into incredible paintings & murals throughout the festival live, finishing with an art walk & silent auction Sunday evening.

• LIB will proudly offer art classes & hands-on workshops at their new immersive creative space, ArtClave, which was created by a community of artists & creators and invites attendees of all skill levels to activate the artist within.

KHAMSIN - MY WAY (FEAT. MOONZZ)

Bringing the sounds of France to the U.S, celebrated producer Khamsin returns with an indie-electro masterpiece, "My Way" featuring the vocal delicacies of Foreign Family's latest signee, MOONZz. Khamsin is a member of France's production super-group, Slow Hours, alongside rising artists such as Kidswaste, Astre and more. Recruited for remixes by the likes of ZHU, Major Lazer, and the Grammy-nominated Mura Masa, Khamsin is no stranger to the world's finest production. "My Way" blends thick drum cadences with future-bass melodies- the perfect algorithm for MOONZz' poetic lyricism to shine. Subtle walls of syrupy-synths cascade finely tuned guitar riffs, showcasing Khamsin's versatile, and dexterous skill set. Balancing indie-pop with bouncy electronic production, "My Way" is stand out single from the French visionary, defined by clean transitions and true artistic synchronicity. DJ KOZE- BONFIRE

German producer Stefan Kozalla, better known as DJ Koze has been making a name for himself in the German hip-hop scene since the mid 90’s. Established as one of the most playful producers, he’s remixed for many, including Chicks on Speed, Rah Band, Matias Aguayo, and countless others. His first solo album, Amygdala appeared back in 2013 courtesy of Pampa. This release came 8 years after his first full-length, Kosi Comes Around. Experimenting with proper Kompakt-style minimal techno, ambient, break beat, and dream pop- he cultivates legendary musical expression. In 2015, Koze released a mix for the DJ-Kicks series and in 2016, put out a Pampa sampler. One of his latest releases, “Bonfire” comes from his full-length LP, Knock Knock. “Bonfire” is concurrently inviting and apprehensive, mixing pulsing atonal synthesizers with warm vocals sampled from Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. There's always a beautiful, magical element in any Koze release. If he didn’t already win you over with his remix of “Operator” at Dekmantel, no worries you have 16 more tracks to fall in love with.

KULTUR - OFF TO GET LOST

France-native Kultur is most definitely one of my favorite up and coming artists of 2018. After he made waves - no pun intended - with his captivating release, “Ocean,” the adroit artist has once again crafted a piece that wields great depth and pulchritude. The title of his new single, “Off To Get Lost,” could not be more fitting as it's a spiraling musical journey that listeners will discover themselves getting lost in. Embellished throughout with shadowy vocal chops, the song enters with rounded percussives that advance to a rapid, quivering rhythm. The beat then intertwines with mystic, beckoning synths and dreamy vocals that paint a lulling illusion of being lifted off the ground. Possessing a track record of music as beautiful as his, I’d strongly advise you to put Kultur on your radar.

ARMANI WHITE - CASABLANCO FREESTYLE (FT. SANGO)

Since the rise of hip-hop in the 1970s, the revolutionary genre has been in a constant of state of flux. Over the years, prominent figures in rap have redefined the aesthetic elements that define its pioneering sound. Despite the seemingly simple nature of setting new standards in any given genre, it takes a true visionary to spearhead change in the world of hip-hop. Creating a wave of his own, Los Angeles-based rapper Armani White is solidifying his legacy as a pillar for contemporary rap. After the celebrated release of  “Public School,” the lead single off of his forthcoming full-length project, Armani White is back in style with the unveiling of “casablanco freestyle.” This thunderous freestyle features production from the storied Soundcloud producer, Sango. Their formidable dynamic is illustrious, as Sango lays down a simple yet resounding beat that oscillates looming piano riffs. Armani’s spit-fire verses puncture the beat creating a palpable aura of true-roots hip-hop. Lace up your freshest kicks, and ride the Armani White wave with us. Volume up.

DIRTY CHIME - FRAGILE BEINGS (FEAT. SKELA)

LA-based singer/songwriter and producer dirty chime has joined forces with NYC's own singer/songwriter Skela for their enchanting new single, "Fragile Beings." Creating an unparalleled chemistry through Skela's celestial vocals and dirty chime's deep, resonating voice atop an exquisite combination of indie, soul, electronic and pop, "Fragile Beings" is nothing short of captivating. The track unfurls with a distinct down-tempo percussive beat that effortlessly intertwines with engaging tremolos and an easy-going melody, transforming into something one can only describe as an absolute beauty.

THUTMOSE - RUN WILD (FEAT. NOMBE)

After a slew of successful tour runs, hit singles, and mass recognition, TH3RD BRAIN’s freshest signees Thutmose and NoMBe have teamed up to drop their rock-fusion single, “Run Wild.” Upbeat and out-of-the-box, this dynamic framework of sounds and space was picked up as the official anthem for the FIFA 2018 World Cup Trailer. Combining two polar, yet amicable genres, “Run Wild” yields thunderous rock cadences courtesy of the pop-rock prodigy NoMBe, while simultaneously manipulating Thut’s high-energy verses as the track unfolds. Both Thutmose and NoMBe are revered for their humble, kind, and open energy that directly translates into their craft. Their close colleague-ship worked in harmony on “Run Wild,” as their synchronicity never skips a beat. Both Thutmose and NoMBe have solidified themselves as 2018’s most exciting artists to watch.
