CRAY - PEACHES (RAC MIX)

Music, RemixMike DooseComment

I’ve been following CRAY for a hot minute. Ever since I stumbled on her Soundcloud and the Mario Bros. themed artwork and video game sample-laden trap tracks caught my eyes and ears, I’ve been watching the rise of the gamer girl who also makes dope beats and tweets hilarious musings about food.

CRAY has come a long way as an artist since her first releases on Soundcloud. She has since started singing on her tracks and developed an indie pop leaning electronic sound. Her latest original single “Peaches” quickly amassed over a quarter of million streams on Spotify alone thanks to a catchy hook, silky vocals, and vibey forward-thinking production. Now we’re lucky enough to have a remix from one of the best remixers in the game, RAC! Everything the dude touches is gold and this “Peaches” mix is no exception. With the addition of gorgeous guitar parts, thick percussion rhythms, and just the right amount of synth embellishments, RAC’s version preserves what made the original great while introducing a new relaxed-yet-bright energy to the track. Go peep this one and add it to your summer playlists now!

WIN AND WOO - CHASING TAIL (MADNAP REMIX)

Remix, MusicAlli LindseyComment

He claims he is never mad, and never takes naps- quite the conundrum considering his name is Madnap. Tune into his remix of Win and Woo’s “Chasing Tail,” and you’ll get a proper feel of his refreshing, optimistic, awakening energy. A musician named after the perfect contradiction, Madnap leaves a distinct imprint on Win & Woo’s original piece, loosening the feel of a once specifically-tuned framework. Delicate melodies compliment a striking layer of synth production, lengthening the frequencies of the original single. As Madnap continues to release gem after gem, his signature sound becomes more defined, solidifying his position as one of our favorite producers to watch this year. Chill out with this fine flip of “Chasing Tail.”

It's another Monday full of rad music .... and today's premiere is the perfect way to start things off on the right foot! Kwon is one of our favorite rising stars, and he just handed us a delicious remix of "Tonight ft. Chelsea Cutler" by Manila Killa & Kidswaste. This LA producer has created chill vibes layering light souring synthy melodies with dreamy vocals and future pop beats - I'm totally feeling this one!  I see big things in the future for Kwon, keep your eyes and ears on this one!

[PREMIERE] BJÖRK - SUN IN MY MOUTH (MARCIOZ REMIX)

Music, PREMIERE, RemixAlli LindseyComment

Artistic, inspired, and seductively allusive, Brazil’s fearless electronic producer Marcioz is back with a brooding remix of Björk’s 2001 single, “Sun in My Mouth.” Rewiring the digital princess is no easy feat, but Marcioz’ inventive aesthetic frames him as the prototype curtain call for flipping Björk. Sensually spooky, Marcioz stays true to the legendary songstress while simultaneously tattooing his algorithmic, electro-production onto her fairytale-esque aura. A vast, microcosmic world of its own is built around calculated instrumentation and true artistry in this flip. Both rustic and futuristic, Marcioz’ signature vision is coming to fruition with ease and innovation- watch this space.

"When I first heard Sun in My Mouth, I immediately thought about adding my style into the piece. I first heard it when I was walking and hearing Vesperatine (which would later become my favorite album). I only heard the beginning of it, because I only wanted to hear it fully once I finished working on my version of the composition. I personally really liked the ending result and thought it was a good way to make a subtle comeback to electronic music composition, but without taking an obvious path towards any genre." - Marcioz

OUT CAME THE WOLVES - 96 (MIELO REMIX)

Music, RemixSara NatkinsComment

Ever wanted to hear your dream combo of emo and electronic music? Well I have. Chicago-based artist Mielo brings on the nostalgia of the old school screamo and punk music glory days with his brand new remix of “96” by Out Came The Wolves. His brilliant harmonies intertwine almost effortlessly with OCTW’s chords, creating an amalgamation that is nothing short of addicting. With this year’s Warped Tour right around the corner, we couldn't have asked for this track to come at a better time.

DJ SLIINK - TEXT UR NUMBER (REMIX) FT. (FETTY WAP + DJ ENVY)

Music, RemixSara NatkinsComment

Born and raised in Jersey, I have to admit- there’s nothing I love more than a good ol’, quality Jersey Club record. That said, it was only natural that when I was passed along the legendary DJ Sliink’s latest release, I couldn’t resist sharing its Jersey club greatness with all of you.

Those who are dedicated Fetty Wap fans (like myself) are most likely familiar with his 2017 jaunty single “Text Ur Number,” which had previously credited The Breakfast Club's DJ Envy and Sliink with its initial release. But interestingly enough, the rendition I'm posting here is not a "remix" fundamentally. Rather, this is what was supposed to be the original production of ”Text Ur Number.” But of course, radio couldn’t handle the quick-tempo vocal chops and bouncy, blood-pumping beat behind the latter and put out something that was more “radio-friendly” instead. All I have to say is, I am much more than thankful this OG version was revealed.

KILL PARIS - RED LIGHTS FT. DOTTER (MADNAP REMIX)

Music, RemixAlli LindseyComment

Making massive waves in the electronic music industry, LA’s own Madnap returns with a remix of Kill Paris’ “Red Lights” featuring Dotter.  A creator with a deep sense of wanderlust, Madnap has performed in cities by the likes of NYC, Chicago, and even London, England. As his global influence continues to unfold, his dexterity follows the same pattern. Fluid and versatile, this particular flip is an echoing chamber of textured production, consciously rewiring KP’s original mix. Radiating walls of synth drip with swagger, puncturing the OG mix with a revitalizing energy. Robust and memorable, this “Red Lights” remix is one of his finest flips to date. Kick off your week by exploring this righteously maddening labyrinth of sounds.
