AViVA - BLACKOUT

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

Fridays are both our favorite and, well, not so favorite day of the week. Why? Because there’s just so many damn good releases that it’s nearly impossible for us to decide which ones to showcase here on Beautiful Buzzz.

The first of the batch that made the (extremely difficult) cut is the new one from rapidly rising singer/songwriter AViVA- a fresh, high-energy single titled “BLACKOUT”. Enlisting an all-star team for the - contrary to its name - colorful pop single, AViVA was aided by a few production power players like Jayson Dezuzio (Imagine Dragons and Lana Del Rey), Charlie Snyder (Bebe Rexha) and Jean Paul Fung who has also worked on past releases for AViVA such as “GRRRLS” and “BRN”. Finally, the song was sonically balanced and perfected by mastering wiz, Chris Gehringer (Twenty One Pilots, Fall Out Boy, Halsey and more).

“BLACKOUT’s” lively nature gives you just the right amount of boost you need to transition from the draining weekdays to kickstart an amped weekend. Also, not to mention how catchy the lyrics are; this is one you will definitely find yourself singing in the shower as you get ready for the Friday night festivities.

EYLIA X MAJEUR MINEUR - AURA

Original Mix, MusicSara NatkinsComment

Newcomer Eylia is making some massive waves with her collaborative debut EP “The Missing Scent”. Aided by fellow producer Majeur Mineur, the 7-track work is absolutely exquisite as it blends R&B with a pop-electronic sound that serves as the backdrop of the EP.

The track that particularly caught our attention was “Aura”, a soothing piece that can put anyone’s stresses or worries at ease. Eylia is truly a knockout, setting herself apart from others through a powerful and striking vocal performance, that is driven by emotive lyrics and a soulful melody. Considering such outstanding talent as hers, one can only imagine how quickly the up and coming artist will be packing stadiums.

YIANNA - ORDINARY LOVE

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

Vibrant and feminine, Yianna’s latest offering “Ordinary Love” is a striking framework of stirring sounds. This soulful indie joint is sensual and enticing, breathing life into elegant cadences defined only by the songstress herself. “Ordinary Love” boasts a natural ebb and flow that is both gorgeous and gritty, solidifying the musically-gifted queen’s place as an artist to watch. This bedroom talk anthem is saturated with romance and fearlessness, constructed with fiery passion. Tune into this intoxicating single of femme resonance as you lose yourself in the beauty that is “Ordinary Love.”

BEAUVOIS - ESCAPE

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

Beauvois, more commonly known by his indie-pop moniker, Kidswaste, has once again graced us with an exposé of versatility and musical brilliance. His fresh release “Escape” takes a different path than previous releases of this alias that took on a mellower vibe such as his last single “Jupiter”. In his most recent, the French singer, songwriter and musician assumes an earlier 2000’s indie/synth-pop sound comprised of upbeat chords and energized guitar riffs. It perfectly cultivates a heavy sense of nostalgia through indie rock elements such as those found in old school Matt & Kim while the 21 year old artist tops it off with his own vocals- ones that almost scarily resembles that of Thomas Mars, lead singer of (also) French indie-pop/new wave band Phoenix. All in all, if you’re looking for an “escape” from the long hours of work, and the continuously shortening days of winter, then this is definitely going to be your go-to.

QUINCY MUMFORD - THANK YOU

Original Mix, MusicSara NatkinsComment

You really have to hand it to musicians; it’s nearly impossible to fathom how difficult and painstaking it must be to come up with something so innovative that one can create a sound-based brand for their selves that’s identifiable. With so many styles and genrse having been exhausted already, and with trends coming and going so rapidly, it’s pretty hard for us to come across a song that we can defiantly say “THIS is different.” We can only assume that it takes a whole lotta thinking outside the box and a ton of patience.

That’s why when Quincy Mumford’s latest track “Thank You” was brought to our attention, we felt as if we had struck gold. Blending concepts such as old school, mellow hip hop riffs with pop electronic synths with the help of producer Jenaux, the two artists design something beautiful through the most unlikely of combinations. The production is woven together with Quincy’s voice, one that can achieve such a high pitch range that nearly resembles Prince’s very own. For us, “Thank You” is like a breath of fresh air, and we certainly can’t- and won’t- get enough of it.

KHAMSIN - PLASTIC DREAMS (FEAT. KIDSWASTE)

Original Mix, MusicSara NatkinsComment

Even as we start to descend into fall, leave it to two artists who are setting some insanely high standards in music, Khamsin and Kidswaste, to make you feel like you’re only just reaching the apex of summer. The French musicians form an unparalleled chemistry in their brand new collaboration, “Plastic Dreams,” as they put their array of skills on full display.

The single is nothing short of an indie-electronic pop gem, one that will 110% be ingrained in your heads for the next month— or 10. It’s nearly impossible to listen to the song all the way through without simultaneously wearing a cheek-to-cheek grin across your face. Thanks to the track’s undeniably hooking lyrics, written and sung by Kidswaste, and innovative, bouncy and melody-rich production courtesy of Khamsin, we now have a soundtrack to help us get through the day while keeping our moods elevated.

CHRISLEE - MAKE A MOVE

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

We’re absolutely delighted to introduce singer and songwriter ChrisLee. His new sugary single, “Make A Move,” provokes all the feels as he combines pop and R&B elements for a result that overflows with summertime vibes. With melodies just as sweet as his voice, and a rhythm that’s utterly irresistible, it makes us wonder why we haven’t covered this guy before.

TWENTY ONE PILOTS - JUMPSUIT (IN BLOOM REMIX)

Remix, MusicSara NatkinsComment

You know that one song you have that makes you feel like you’re the coolest person in the world; when you’re walking down the street, absolutely owning it, and you feel completely invincible? Well, newcomer In Bloom’s latest release fits exactly that bill. The producer challenges Twenty One Pilot’s original “Jumpsuit,” as he puts an incredibly sexy, dark glitch-filled spin on it, and boy does he succeed. To give you some more perspective, imagine if Daft Punk, Justice and the Glitch Mob all had a child- this is exactly what they’d get. In other words, In Bloom’s rendition goes H A R D, and it wouldn’t be surprising in the slightest if this track ended up in every forthcoming festival set. That said, I suggest you crank your speakers up before hitting play on this one.

MEDII, KRISTEN OLSSON - RUN DRY

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

On gloomy days like the one we're experiencing over here in New York, we always need some sort of pick me up. For me, that's music. Luckily I stumbled upon this new little gem by SF-based producers Medii and singer/songwriter Kristen Olsson, titled “Run Dry.” Combining elements of pop, electronic and R&B stirred together with twinkling synths and impassioned chord progressions, this uplifting tune allows you to still see the sunlight even on the most ominous of days. As it elicits a rush of adrenaline through gripping build ups and a powerful chorus, it’s difficult not to feel elevated after a single listen to “Run Dry.”
