[PREMIERE] JAMIE LANE - SAY IT AGAIN FT. NAJI

Music, Original Mix, PREMIEREAlli LindseyComment

In a cross-continental collaboration, Aussie musician Jamie Lane teams up with American artist Naji to unveil “Say It Again.” Boasting an invigorating draw, "Say It Again” is a fresh take on contemporary R&B. Chambers of charming, distorted vocals melt into the optimistic electronic production with ease. Naji brings a raw, rhythmic feel to the digital resonance, propelling the track into a different dimension. Assembling a tapestry of genres to create a single outline, “Say It Again” is as intellectual as it is musically dynamic, Lane quotes “Although the track has easy going vibes it’s lyrically a fairly personal song. There are a few themes running through it but the main one is; trying to establish real confidence through drive & will, instead of through the validation from others, which always leads back to self-doubt and depression.” A single rich in value with an acute attention to the technicalities of electronic production, “Say It Again” is a stunning reveal. Stream it across all platforms here, and watch this space for more from Jamie Lane.

THOREAU - IN FOR

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Denver’s own Thoreau returns plunging himself in the deep waters of hip-hop. The well versed producer is revered for his charming, down-tempo electro-pop signature. Challenging his own style with a sense of unfettered swag, Thoreau unveils, “In For.” Boasting his own slackened verses on top of an easy-going beat, “In For” yields a romantic mantra, manifesting the hardships of relationships and heartbreak. With over a million streams across his entire discography, the wanderlust producer is showcasing no signs of stagnancy. His broad versatility, and unique take on electronic music is righteously colliding with his other influences. “In For” is a catchy single, but strays from the mainstream, solidifying Thoreau as one of the most exciting acts to watch this year. Stay tuned for more electro-fusion from the Denver hustler.

[PREMIERE] ELEMENT - YOU (FT. KHAMARI)

Music, Original Mix, PREMIEREAlli LindseyComment

Sensual, smooth, and properly in sync- New York producer Element and Boston’s R&B genius, Khamari have teamed up to release their sultry, intellectual single, “You.” Taking the East Coast by storm, the duet shares a sense of respect and admiration for one another's respective craft. Having already been homies, the partnership comes to fruition by the likes of buttery production, rolling drum cadences, and a controlled ebb and flow of synth. Carefully layered and curated, “You,” is the sound of electro-r&b at its apex. Khamari’s crisp, palpable hymns cascade with ease atop a genre-blending horizon of sexy, synthesized sounds. Navigate your Tuesday with this cool track from two brilliant collaborators.

RKCB - VICE

Music, Original MixEricComment

Dude this new one from RKCB is just bonkers in a good way. It starts with a fat horn synth sound that just blasts away immediately with a funky bass line underneath that sweeps you off your feet from the second you hit play. By the time the vocals come in you're immediately in a tense form of anticipation wondering where the hell else is this track going?? It maintains this precarious equilibrium of funky bliss throughout with smatterings of shiny pads and glitchy patches flashing in and out. We at BB were already fans of RKCB, but new tracks like this remind us why. Add this on Spotify here.

EMMIT FENN - MODERN FLAME (FEAT. YUNA)

Back in December, we introduced you to Emmit Fenn, the Los Angeles-based artist who writes, produces, and sings darkly-tinged post-EDM genre-bending music. He demonstrates a solid grasp on various production styles including pop, hip hop, and future bass. His delicate voice also contrasts effortlessly with the highly dynamic elements of his production. On his latest track “Modern Flame”, which features the incredible Yuna, he's found himself the perfect duet partner for his first collab. The Malaysian songstress’ silky smooth pop/R&B vocals provide a similar understated topline to Fenn’s, which together strike the perfect balance with the track’s production. Listeners like me are definitely eager to see what other collaborations Fenn has coming next!

JOSH JACOBSON - POLAROIDS

MusicMike DooseComment

New to the blog today is Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter, producer and instrumentalist Josh Jacobson (that’s right he does it all). ‘Polaroids’ is the soulful first single from his forthcoming debut EP First Light. Over the last few months, Josh has cemented his place as a pioneer of the genre of 'future soul' with a string of acclaimed releases that blend forward-thinking electronic production with soulful vocals and live instrumentation. His cover of Little Dragon’s ‘Twice’ showcased his versatility in both creating unique and interesting soundscapes and smoothly crooning overtop of them.

On ‘Polaroids’ he weaves emotional R&B vocal lines in and out of pulsating synths, trap hi-hats and echoing toms. Lyrically, he takes the listener through a story of faded memories, moments lost in time and a continual search for meaning. This single hints at the the emotional storm the much-anticipated First Light is sure to be! Stream it on Spotify here.

TEFLON SEGA - BERETTA LAKE (FEAT. SAINT JHN)

Music, Original MixEricComment

This winter season has already brought us some really dope tracks, and this bone chilling mellow R&B tune from Teflon Sega is 100% tapping my wintery mood. The layers of dreamy pads, longing piano and Teflon Sega's mesmerizing falsetto vocals have put me in a introspective cloud as I'm currently helping to prep our Beautiful Buzzz year in review. SAINt JHN throws down a wistful verse halfway through and leads us into the misty exit. I don't have much to tell you about Teflon Sega at this point other than that I also really enjoyed his first release "Sinner" as well. Relatively new to the scene if he keeps tracks like this coming you'll definitely be hearing more on our pages from this camp.
