GOODSEX - GLOW FEAT. GENEVIEVE & TRANCE THOMPSON

MusicKelsey JamesComment

Slow it down with GoodSexs lead single “Glow” from their forthcoming EP, coming soon. GoodSex is comprised of members Joes Domingo and Colin Tyler. For this track, the duo tapped both Genevieve and Trance Thompson for an effortlessly cool 80’s retro-fused sound; Genevieve’s vocals the true cherry on top to the groovy beat. “Glow” is something that all groups worked on collaboratively together, making this something super special for all parties. They want to remind “each of us to ‘Glow.’”

TWO FRIENDS - BANDAID

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

What started as simple bedroom studio sessions, LA’s electronic duo Two Friends have witnessed an onslaught of upward trajectory in recent years. Revered for their stunning rework of The Killers’ Mr. Brightside, Two Friends continues to leave their lasting influence with their original joints. Their latest drop, “Bandaid” is a robust, funky, summer-ready framework embellished with artistic intricacies. Subtle trap notes wisp around a more prominent, bouncy production leaving space for femme-style vocals to shine with a sense of divinity. Bold, and parade-like, “Bandaid” is a testament to the duet’s broad artistic scope and versatility as producers. Derobe, grab a beer, and get down with this groovy piece from Two Friends.

[PREMIERE] TIM ATLAS - COUNTERFEIT

PREMIERE, Music, Original MixMike DooseComment

Master of vintage vibes and soulful swag, the one and only Tim Atlas is back with a new tune just as he prepares to embark on his All Talk! Summer Tour, and we’re excited to have the honor of premiering it for you today on this lovely New Music Friday.

Clocking in at just under three minutes, “Counterfeit” is a short and sweet slice of classic Tim Atlas grooviness. Replete with a sassy bass line, plenty of cowbell, sexy synths, and cheeky gang vocals for good measure—it’s a bouncy toe tapper that’ll have you moving without even realizing it. Tim’s soft and subdued vocals glide above the 80’s rock drums, nostalgic synths and jazzy guitar and bass licks. Like most of Atlas’ music, it transports you back to an earlier era while maintaining an air of contemporary electro-funk of which the likes of Chromeo or Cherub would likely be fans.

Speaking about the track, Tim said:
"We're all guilty of indulging in something when we know we shouldn’t. But we do it anyway because we’re human and we often choose that feeling over what actually makes sense."

MIDNIGHT POOL PARTY - SIGNALS

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Proving to be much more than a duo with an enticing name, Sydney, Australia-based Midnight Pool Party unveils "Signals," a smooth and groovy piece with electrifying spaces. Firm believers in the power of nu-disco, the twosome serves to keep the pioneering genre alive and respected. "Signals" is a cosmic explosion of chill vibes- hold the inevitable chaos resulting from explosions. Midnight Pool Party is making live-electronic music the norm by combining the sounds of digital production with guitar, bass, keys, and in-house vocals. "Signals" was born from delicate frequencies, swept through a filter of jazz and coffee-house intricacies, giving new meaning to modern day groove.

This is our shitt right here. New Cut Copy means happiness in a lot of people's earholes. This heavenly piece of music will take you "Airborne" with their perfectly groovy bassline, perky drumming and funky guitars. As eclectic as it is magnificent we're treated with flittering blips of rhythmic hits rising out above the flowing pads. The resolute chorus of falsetto singers chant "That don't stop me" as the song bumps along. We've heard rumours that this is the first of more to come as the band has been recording a all over the globe in the past year. Sign us up Cut Copy...it's been too long. Add this on Spotify here

MRVLZ - HER NAME

Music, Original MixEricComment

I've been slowly ramping up the intensity with my posts today, and I've got a heavy hitter right here from San Jose's MRVLZ (pronounced marvels in case you were wondering). "Her Name" is groovy beast with pumping synth stabs and a killer guitar-like synth solo after the first chorus. The vocal chops fit perfectly with the rhythm and synthwork intricately placed with ease. This is a fun record and I've grooving to it for a couple days now AND you can nab this as a free dl so hit it up!

PAT LOK - YOU STREET

Music, Original MixEricComment

Oooohhh our boy Pat Lok is back with another superbly smooth single of house laden goodness. Pat never seems to disappoint and we can chalk another W into his record with "You Street." True to form this track is bright and shimmery with bobbing synthwork, groovy bass and even what sounds to me like a sporadic breath inhale. The track goes down smoother than an ocean breeze and will keep you feeling relaxed this Sunday. If you're on the east coast be sure to catch Pat with a couple of May dates in Philly and Brooklyn on the 5th and 7th. Grab the deets here.

[PREMIERE] SAINT WKND X MIDWAY - SET IT OUT

Music, Remix, Original MixEricComment

Yess brand spanking new Saint WKND! We've been waiting for a new track from the German youngster and here it is! I had to do a little google search to find out more about Midway, what a find! I love it when DJ's dig up old cuts straight out of 1984 and breathe new life into them. Midway's soulful vocals soar above Saint WKND's grooving disco sounds leading to a driving drop full of funky piano like synths, and of course the amazing tropical steel drums! Primed to take on 2016 it sounds like Saint WKND's got even more up his sleeve with a new EP on the way soon. Love it homie, also proud to see that you've found new joy in making music "not about impressing," but "about expressing." Preach it brotha you can grab this as a free download here!

[PREMIERE] ALEX CLARE - TOO CLOSE (WHITE CLIFFS REMIX)

Music, RemixEricComment

Following up on his incredibly smooth "It's Strange" remix, White Cliffs has graciously gifted us at BB the opportunity to debut this totally groovy remix of Alex Clare's "Too Close." Starting rather minimally with light synth organ, claps and pitched down vocals, you know White Cliffs is getting you prepped for something special. A light build leads us into the moving funky bass line chorus that just fits too perfectly. I really enjoy the ease at which this remix takes on the original. White Cliffs adeptly reminds us that you don't need to throw the whole kitchen sink in to create an effective record. Well produced, catchy and focused can get the job done every time. You can pick up this track as a free download right here.
