SMLE - OVERFLOW (FEAT. HELEN TESS)

Music has the ability to bring joy and positivity into people’s lives. That’s the mantra that young production duo SMLE embraces when honing their craft, and their newest release is yet another example of how they’re putting that mentality to practice. We’re a bit late to share this gem, but “Overflow,” out now via Lowly Palace (the Trap Nation imprint that’s been on a roll lately), features the blissful vocals of Helen Tess who also provided the topline for Big Z’s “Galaxy” release we covered a few weeks ago. Featuring smooth future production, chill drops and playful lyrics that evoke thoughts of childhood like “I can count to one Mississippi” — “Overflow” is without a doubt a tune that’ll get your weekend started and put a SMLE on your face.

ALSO — don’t miss SMLE next month in SF opening at our show with SAN HOLO, DROELOE, and WRLD!! Tickets went on sale yesterday and are already almost gone!!

Another feel-good track for y’all today! Since it’s Friday, why not? A newcomer to the BB pages today is Philadelphia-based feel-good house producer Big Z. Fans of Viceroy, Galantis, and Wave Racer will dig this guy. I'm really digging his production style. It makes me yearn for pool parties. Here’s his latest “Galaxy” which is a gloriously bouncy, uplifting track with perfectly fitting light and sweet vocals from Helen Tess (whose singing we heard back in October on this amazing SMLE track) that will have you tapping your foot and envisioning yourself dancing through space in no time!

Happy World Smile Day everyone! We thought it would be all too fitting to bring you this amazing new single :) today of all days. Honestly I'm not sure how SMLE has eluded our pages at this point. I was pretty surprised that we haven't given them any support, but that changes today! Childhood friends and nearly 6 years in the making this grinning duo has hit the 1 million mark on Soundcloud with their Alicia Keys' "You Don't Know My Name" and Owl City's "Fireflies" remixes. Since then they've releases a slew of other successful remixes and some fantastic originals like the jazzy "Everyday" and a pop standout in "It'll Be Okay" featuring the singer of this new record Helen Tess. "Halo" is simply divine and perfect to get you amped for the upcoming weekend. Living up to their name, "Halo" will put a smirk on your face with the energetic piano, pumping synths and the incredibly catchy lyrics. The chorus drop has a huuugggee snare that locks the rest of the rhythmic blaring synths into place. SMLE is here to stay and the upward trajectory is only getting steeper. You can stream on Spotify here and purchase this single from Monstercat on iTunes here.
