SWEATER BEATS - GLORY DAYS (SPIRIX REMIX)

Music, RemixMike DooseComment

Sometimes I listen to something, and it’s so good on the first listen I just feel compelled to share it with more people. I think that’s the real reason why music bloggers choose to write about music. As much as I love writing, I wouldn’t post a song publicly if I didn’t think that other people would enjoy it as much as me.

This remix is one of those tracks that was so good that I knew after the first drop that I had to share it with the BB fam. Don't wanna jinx it but this could go #1 on HypeM easily, knock on wood. I’ve heard the original which is incredible, as most things from LA’s favorite homies Sweaters and Kiyoko usually are, and I’ve seen the name Spirix floating around the interwebs, so I could say I sort of knew what to expect from this song. Little did I know what I was in for. Spirix has taken “Glory Days” and turned it from an exciting electropop song into an electrifying supercharged magnum opus. The flawless production chops demonstrated in this remix of an already melodically impressive and hook-laden song just make you want to listen on repeat. If you weren’t already watching Spirix, this remix is reason enough to start.

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Look out y'all - this one has me shakin my shoulders around in a feel good sassy way! This only means good things! Our homie and BB boyfriend Sweater Beats has released what I would call ... wondrous future pop perfection.  "Alter ft. R.LUM.R" just dropped via Big Beat and as usual, Sweater Beats has left us with a skip in our walk and a smile on our face. He's meticulously combined that familiar dance pop song structure with bright melodies and lofty vocals from R.LUM.R with all the delicious future feels ... I am a happy girl! SWEATER BEATS - DID YOU WRONG FT. MAX

MusicMike DooseComment

It's always an awesome week when there's new Sweater Beats! Pretty sure I'm going to a show every night this week AND Halloween parties this weekend woop woop! But I'm here to talk about music, specifically this smooth soulful second single off his forthcoming "For The Cold" EP (Big Beat Records). It's a bewitching blend of sultry nineties-esque pop-soul vocals from MAX and the always-on-point rich, innovative production and melodies we've come to expect from Sweater Beats. The release is also timed perfectly ahead of a stacked debut live tour across North America, which kicks off tomorrow night in SF! Get tickets HERE (he's probably coming to your city), grab this track from Big Beat HERE, and look out for the EP this winter!

IMAD ROYAL - BAD 4 U (SWEATER BEATS REMIX)

Music, RemixEricComment

I supremely loved Imad Royal's endearing original "Bad 4 U" check out our review here. When I saw another BB stand out Sweater Beats had taken to rework the original I figured it was going to be bomb. No surprises here Sweater Beats has updated the original for dance floors and added a fun spin of his own. The drop is lead by an eclectic vocal chop that bends and hops putting a smirk across your face. You can purchase this remix on iTunes here.

SWEATER BEATS - BETTER FT. NICOLE MILLAR & IMAD ROYAL

Music, Original MixEricComment

One of our BB faves Sweater Beats just dropped his first original track in almost 2 years, and oh what a good one at that! Teaming up with Sydney's Nicole Millar, and growing industry aficionado Imad Royal, the three have constructed an electronic pop crossover that delights and enthralls. The hip hop percussion locks the beat down as strums of guitar, pulsing bass and flaring synths bob and weave our way through an incredibly infectious chorus proclaiming "I'll make you better." This tune is endearing, fun and hard hitting - pretty much everything you want in a record! Sweater Beats also just announced a slew of new dates for the "For The Cold" fall tour available on his website www.sweaterbeats.com and you can purchase this tune from Big Beat here

SWEATER BEATS & KAMAU - HEY YA

Cover, MusicErin MaherComment

Our boy Sweater Beats just dropped a delicious new track, and who doesn't love a super siiick cover of "Hey Ya" by OutKast?  This is the first piece of new music we've seen from this New York producer in 2016, and he's flipped this classic track into a piece of future beats heaven. Teaming up with vocalist KAMAU, Sweater Beats made this one to open his sets and decided he would finally release it to the world. Feels! You can grab a free download HERE!
