[PREMIERE] LOVE LEVEL - WHY YOU LEFT

Music, Original Mix, PREMIEREAlli LindseyComment

Dreamy Australian duo Love Level is back with the third and final single from their forthcoming EP. “Why You Left” is a hazy lullaby with a bedroom-pop spirit. The track is raw, open, and sincere from its smoked-out instrumentals to its heartfelt lyrical prose. A song about friendship and the unwelcome symptoms that often accompany companionship, “Why You Left” is a reckoning with loss. Quietly electronic, Love Level excels at blending a series of genres together to create a sound entirely their own. The indie-pop songstresses have no issue wearing their hearts on their sleeve; their earnest and unwavering commitment to poetry is unmistakable, and “Why You Left” is no exception. Although a relatively new outfit in modern indie-electronic music, Love Level is blossoming at a rate much deserved. Watch this space for their debut

“Writing ‘Why You Left’ was a super personal experience for us. There were so many emotions and feelings we both had, and both wanted to express that when we came together to write, the song just fell into place so fast. We brought the song to our producer, Callum MacDonaldof daste., and practically finished it in one session. For us, this song is about dealing with the sudden loss of a friendship and not fully understanding where things went wrong, or why you lost them. It’s about accepting that they’re happy without you but also the bittersweet feeling that comes with holding onto the good memories you had with them” - Love Level

PHIL GOOD - I MISS YOU

MusicMike DooseComment

One of the coolest things about the modern day music industry is the existence of artists who do everything on their own. There is a growing contingent of artists who are the all-in-one singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Los Angeles-based Phil Good is one of this new breed of creators. He burst onto the scene last year with infectious debut single "Sleeping In" and has since followed up with a couple great remixes (including this one by Sean Turk), a killer collab with k?d, and sophomore burner "Growing Up" — you could say we're fans.

This week he shares his third solo track "I Miss You" which is yet another emotionally relatable record with catchy melodies and upbeat bouncy contemporary production. I've been blasting this one and singing it everywhere from my commute to the shower. Give it a listen and you will be too.

Phil himself shared a short story about the song:

“I Miss You is the first song in a while that just poured out of me. I wrote it during a visit home last Christmas on one of my best friends' couch while looking out at a pretty incredible wintery view of Portland. Everything was movie-perfect except for the fact that the love of my life with was not there with me. I think writing and producing this song really helped me better understand this project and pave a clearer path of the future of Phil Good and the type of catchy-but-not-too-happy music I want to make.” - Phil Good

PHIL GOOD - GROWING UP

Phil Good is back and he is absolutely philling it with this second release! (See what I did there?) In all seriousness though, the Los Angeles singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist came out of the gates incredibly strong with debut single “Sleeping In” which was a frickin’ earworm if I’ve ever heard one. The guy can write hooks! But he’s got the lyrical prowess and production chops to go along with it, which is certainly rare these days. With top-notch future pop production, relatable lyrics, and a killer synth lead, “Growing Up” is a deeper and darker follow up which shows a more emotional side to the emerging artist. He’s in good company too with fellow Working Group Management clients like Cheat Codes, Billie Eilish, and CADE (among others). I for one am extremely eager to hear more of what’s in store for Phil Good.
